Its good to hear Talib doin his thing...Song makes alot of sense too, talkin about artist being actors and lyricism being replaced with swag...but im a fan of both swag rap and lyrical shit so i can't call it
Yeah im a fan of both myself...but at the same time u got to be lyrical to stay in this world we call hip-hop. I wish they had a actuall vid though. But the song is straight crack. BLACK SMITH
This is betta than dat T-wayne shit and im not talkin about hip hop lvl, im talkin bout on a musical lvl.
talib is a lyrical genius..it's just sad that he aint gonna get the respect he deserve caus ehe's not a mainstream nigga...meanwhile,guy's like weezy say they are the greatest rapper alive and people follow them niggas like robots. kweli > wayne.
I agree (SportsCenter), these days you have to have both to be a truly succesful artist, i.e. Jay-Z....he has lyrics and has the swag to go along wit it. Now you do have the artist that just have swag and no lyrical talent BUT, they know how to use what they have to become successful, this is a business as well as a culture of black music. See the big picture.
Amazing track from one of the best albums of 2007. If not the best.
bitch this is HIP-HOP not that shitty soulja crap.
illuzionz21,
i don't know how you can say "...but at the same time u got to be lyrical to stay in this world we call hip-hop" when we have majority of the southern rappers satayin on top of this new age HIP HOP with beat and words i can' fuckin understand.
"the rhymin so fresh" yes yes
love the beat and BOTH are great artists
these 2 are SAVEING HIP HOP
this joint is hot
"bring the beat back, all that wackness we don't need that"
shit bumps
A Fresh Breath Of Hip-Hop
I bang these hard on La Brea ave
Sick of the "This is real hip hop" quotes....
Song is bumpin no doubt, this is just the east style of hip hop...I like when Qweli spits on these type of beats.
Co-sign...and everyone saying "This is saving hip-hop" if hip-hop is dead why is this site even still running? Hip-hop evolved, and has many times, we went from Sugar Hill Gang, to NWA, to Nas and Jigga, and now we got Wayne, Game, 50, whoever you like...stop bein so close-minded and enjoy the music
^^real talk.
Im still bumpin this album every now and then
Talib Kweli doesn't get anywhere near the commemoration he deserves.
This guy is tryna do some positive shit in this Hip-Hop world, so there's no reason why you can't feel this guy in some way!
The Illist..get it ill-ist! PAY ATTENTION!!!
huge fan of kweli. KRS-One is alright. i know he's a legend in the game, but im just personally not a fan of his flow. almost like a skilled busta lol

TALIB....what's really good, I'M LOVING THIS SONG
This is true hip hop. A song with a message and the beat is nice. I'm tired of song always talking about drugs, killing, hoes, getting money etc. Its more to life than that.
2 Legends on a song = Classic
i love talib. the only problem is his voice gets a lil irritating after a while. i wish he could find a way to switch up his voice a lil bit.
but regardless, he one of the most talented (and underrated) in the game
Ain´t hard to tell when true lyricist are on a beat...Crazy shit right here..."SIMPLY RAW"
HEAVY BEAT, that tru East flavour. Tired of garbage southern mc's who arent even that skilled compared to KRS and TALIB, they kill it on that fast flow at the end. Not that I dont like the south just all the flakes that are coming out of that scene right now.
wide nose breathin all the white mans air (KRS One). lol
This is some good shitt.
