This scares me. If Apple starts there own label, that could mean shit like the artists on that label will only be available on itunes, only work on ipod,etc. Apple and Microsoft are famous for that monopoly ish. Big up to Shawn Carter, the most succesful entrepenuer to rise out of hip hop. But what if the only way to cop the next Hov album is via itunes? What if it only works on ipod?
This definitely has a weird feeling to it. I read some shit the other day about this group called the "Eagles". They have a deal where you can only purchase the album thru their website or Wal-mart. So far the shit is working extremely well for them. I wonder if Apple and Jay are taking this idea to the next level. I can see Apple having an exclusive deal with retailers to sell the product.
i doubt they would limit their market like that. with apple's technology they are going to make it easier to purchase music. they already did that with itunes, and like dude was trying to explain, if apple is gonna compete against other labels, then other labels prob arent gonna make they music available on itunes. which could result in a whole new environment for the music business (which is needed with all the illegal dl'ing) yo this could mean big things cuz i'm sure steve jobs and s. carter got something planned.
