Again I love/respect what Kanye brings to hip hop as an artist/producer. And this song grew on me the more I listened to it. But after I watched the video, IM CONFUSED ALL OVER AGAIN. i alone?
he was telling a story with the vid,
the story?
idk
Very weird video..but creative.
kanye should have his album titled: rappa ternt sanga lol. anyways this vid is aight but i can't see how it fits with the song. rly this is a weird vid
videos weird.. i like it but i dont understand it.
as for the ellen exclusive "..and i'll do anythang for a blonde dike"
On second thought, maybe this video is about Kanye being in love with some girl and he is dreaming about the african dancers which symbolize something about his relationship.
WHAT THIS SONG WAS TRYING TO SAY:
everything men do is for women..... since the beginning of time...
this includes protecting them which is wats meant by Love Lockdown....
its really artistic
I CAN ALREADY SEE IT NOW THERE WILL BE LIKE THREE DIFFERENT VIDEOS FOR THIS SONG.
this song has grown on me so much, when he performed it at the vmas i was like wtf is this nigga thinking, but now im really feelin it.

This shit is hot...Kanye never fails to entertain...Love Lockdown is the hottest song this year
Cuba you aint lying heartless is cccraaazzzyyyy this might be another classic album
I guess he's speaking about his african roots in the song, and that's how the video can be related to it. The song is about his love for the african culture.
WTF is the concept of the video? Anyone? I'm not following.
The video has no relation to the lyrics.
no offense but to me something dont seem right with kanye anymore...i hope he dont lance bass us on ellen..lol
WTF?!
This man has lost his fuckin mind
wtf kayne
but good video and i guess a story 2
This dude is on some crazy shit. Come back Kanye!
theres prolly gonna be a 2nd and 3rd version to the video like he usually does =S
video sucks, songs tight,
...yeah
i'm gonna take a stab at the concept of the video. it's obvious that kanye is playing a person depressed by the effects of losing someone you love. And maybe this is his vision as to what a person going crazy over losing love is. I don't know. it's a weird video. Maybe there are just a lot of African people because the drums are a type of African drum. But I'm sure there's a meaning behind it.
Im new but i had to post my explanation of the video to try to be a smart ass. Like maybe since he got money now people say he has changed or tight jeans and bright colors arent the way "we" are supposed to dress. Maybe he keeps his love lockdown ( love for himself) by being himself and you lose at the end of the day cause you be yourself and people still talk about you. You either be yourself and people clown you. or you be something your not and your a fraud.
Um Video synopsis: The safest place is Home when your heart is at war with someone elses heart. Outside, Africa's most fierce tribe ("in the danger zone") awaits him, within in he has a soldier(standing next to him in like the third scene, but don't see the face of the warrior) through the hardest of times a woman can always be present and beautiful, (the tribal woman) The Flourescent women in the video I assume represent is WIfe and Mother, being that the were the two biggest and most noticable figure's throughout the "treatment"(video). Kanye West is "Love" the House represented what He was "Lockdown" in.
I agree with u.
u could tell something like this was coming from kanye cuz graduation was 1/2 alternative 1/2 hip hop... i guess this is gonna b all the way alternative.... not feelin the song or video..... might b the first kanye album i dont cop
No Ice, No Rims, No designer clothes..... that's cool
this video made me like the song lol
idk after hearing Royce da 59 rap on this, im just not feelings this
Kanye is on love lockdown. That's why we he's always inside that white home place- his heart is locked down and he can't leave where he's at. The African people are how it feels when you're locked down like that (also, notice how they match up with the drum line. boom boom boom!). wild, foreign but also attractive as hell. We see how they get at Kanye when the sneak around and end up in his home (heart, soul, mind).
I think the two flourescent women are representing the woman who has him on lockdown. Beautiful, appealing and totally different, yet similar to the Africans. They also match up with the music.
Oh, and shoutouts to Ellen! haha nice exlusive. She's actually been reppin 'Ye for years
yo if 50 did some shyt like dis yall would be making him look like da clown of the industry but now kanye do some gay shit singing and hittin luther type notes yall wanna bump dam dats how u know da game all fucked up
the reason for that is because they are two completely different artist. 50 is "hard" so for him to make a song or video like this would be so out of his character. His fans do not listen to him for this kind of music. If he did do something this he would get talked about but most of it would be by his fans. The sam goes for Kanye, if Kanye made a song that sounds like anything that 50 has ever made he would also be bashed by his fans. This fits into Kanye's style and his realm of being different and trying new things and his true fans like and appreciate that. Those who are fans of 50 like him for completely different reason.
how the video and song relate is the song= kanye talking about how he loves something but it just wont work in his life on the radio it sounds like he possibley talking abuout a femal but whati pick up from the video is his love for africa, the people, and culture. saying how much he loves the whole african background but where he lives and the culture he entertains in he cant represent fully without damaging his carrer or "reputation"
the video is basically up for any sort of deep interpretation, thats what art is for, everyone has their own different perspective on what it signifies. Kanye was trying to generate this video as form of art. And he definetly nailed it. So before you jump to conclusions about your opinion, analyze it. Then speech your mind.
you sir just changed my mindsset thank you
that was cool... and royce da 5'9" KILLED this track
iight let me explain what da video is about nah im just fuckin wit ya idk what da fuck da video bout but da song mad good just if he would have spit something in like da middle it would make it better for me ya digggggg
i think he tryin 2 hard 2 win an award wit dis 1, no disrespect. its nice doe
messing wit kanye dis love lockdown version 1 outta 100 ha ha.....
I Think The Song Is Wack! As His Old CDs Said WAKE UP MR. WEST!!!!!
im lost wtf dat video had 2 da wit da song..i miss college dropout..yell at me
I feel that this song may represent Kayne's two loves..... his culture represented by the Africans in dance, their fierce nature, their strength, he's probably wanting to show that side of himself however cannot due to his career. And the women, highlighted by the many colors all over them, symbolizing the many races of women who throw themselves at him, aka groupies. He is asking for their love to stay true and present in his life, eventhough at times he gets confused about who and what to love in his life. Especially now his mom and fiancee are no longer there. Spirtual matters it seems. Peace to all! Give Thanks and Praise!
man put it like this, its the music business and this video is can be felt visually by any one. thats why he's international...weird or not...
LOL?? damn that video was a trip.. i was too high for taht one.
da fuck was dat......
if that doesn't win video of the year....nothing should. the video is excellent!
it makes no since with the lyrics
all his video all alayz werid i like it doe lol big upz ta kanye one of mah fav rappers.
this video is so artistic. kanye is not just a mc. he´s first an artist. he puts the art in the first place. this video can prove it.
WTF!? wish the video related to the song but hey its kanye im sure hell have another video for the song
The beat is Sick! it has that Donkey Kong feel to it.... Kanye is a genius.
The song had to grow on me, but its my shit now. Cant bang this shit in the ride but play it in the crib.
But for the video, what can I say, another Kanye video. What the fuck was the tribe about???? He need to end his videos with explanations. Like: I was watching "Coming to America" and liked the drums from the wedding scene so just felt like throwing that shit and the dancers in my video.
the tribe represents the "savage" or wild part of men in general when it comes to dealing with women. the strongest, fiercest fighters are still locked down and controlled by women, or the pursuit of women. I know I fall for the chase every time still... dig deeper HOLLA
I get this video.
Kanye broke up with the bitch, but she came back and was a giant bitch with weird glow in the dark body/face paint. So Kanye calls up his african peeps and they all come with spears, shields, bow & arrows and their drums. They about to take that bitch out, but unbeknownst to them, she brought another giant bitch with her.Knowing they can't beat the both of them, they decide to get crazy on the drums and do a stomp out dance until the bitches leave...
Is that it?
Man I laughed so hard when I read your comment. That was too damn funny
No I don't get it it doesn't relate at all... sorry
Shout out to the mother land...still don't like the song
