Honestly I wasn't feeling the video. The song is dope on some real laid back chill shit, but I wasn't feeling the video.
yeah, this video was shot for people who could appreciate the art in it. Like the cinematography was dope and the parallel story line of heroine was coo for a music video. I would've liked it even more if they shot it on 16mm to give it a grainy look and followed a noir style of mise-en-scene.
I always wanted to shot a video for Allure off The Black Album. I could've got down with that shit.

This video is like Kanye's Flashing Lights video in the sense that you have to understand the song to understand the video.
The video is kinda dark because the song is really dark. The main girl in the video is trying to fight her addiction. There is another VERY dark figure in the vid that looks like she is blowing out (what looks like) heroin. The main character is doing good until she hits the club and her addiction is calling to her more and more.
Jigga is talking about fighting the addiction in the song using himself as the figure. A Double-entendre. It really plays itself out in the video really nicely.

^^^ A trend? Nychypeman my dewd do you only watch hip hop videos? If not check out some videos from other genre. There is way more stories to them. Almost like mini movies. Its sad that hip hop tells some great stories on the music aspect, yet most of the videos are nothing more than dudes rocking bathing apes and straight shuckin' and jivin' like some dancing apes. Straight minstrel show video!
...at least somebody is tryna explain the song. i thought everybody understood it wasn't a smooth "love song" you dedicate to your girl - that is unless ur girl a fiend. the song is hot. one of my favorites off the AG album...i think Jay said su'hm along the lines of an addiction (particularly dope) isn't seen as something harsh from the addicts point of view. them gettin their fix is a beautiful thing, to them - like a love story. oh and i had to trash dude comment for sayin the song was about crack. its about heroin, dope, diesel, etc. even tho i must admint to the average american "crack" cocaine and heroin are commonly misconstrued as bein one in the same...so maybe i shouldn't have trashed ur comment, as wrong as it was. i apologize.

The concept of the video is definitely in line with the song.......I think the Hip Hop community has been conditioned to except videos that have no meaning.....That makes it hard to appreciate videos such as this one and Kanye's video.

I didn't like this song too much on the album but its a concept track about how this girl tries to fight her addiction. The video fits the track well but it don't make me like the track any more.
