There really is that sense of elitism and not enough people willing to let their guard down and like something different -- on both ends. Some people swear by Lupe and won't give Souljah Boy a chance. Then idiots like 50 Cent GOAT who's all up on G-Units nuts and discredits anything that isn't them.

My pops said it best when he was drunk once ... probably the only advice he ever gave me as far as music goes and probably the most important I've heard in my life.

He said it's an artist's responsibility to deliver his product to the audience. If he's "going over people's heads" or isn't being understood, then it's his fault. It's his (or her) job as an artist to connect with the audience and give them something to care about.

Unfortunately, a lot of rappers and writers and almost any one involved in creative work, treats whatever they write as their baby. That sort of "This is MY art, accept it as it is, this is ME."

But that's not what art is about. It's a communal thing, so there has to be middle ground. I think a dood like Jay-Z is a perfect example of that. People don't recognize how political dood gets on The Blueprint and The Black Album. He drops some knowledge.

Some underground rapper will say "I'm trying to teach people" but no one cares because they're on a high horse. Jay Z did 99 Problems and no one even realized they were being schooled on the fact that it was illegal for the police to search the glove compartment and the trunk without a warrant.

Hip Hop sales will probably never go back. But what we need to do as its consumers and producers is come up with new ways to get stuff out!

I just got back from it, definitely a good flick...slightly overhyped. Heath Ledger's Joker was incredible, specially for a PG 13 movie. You really got the sense how fucked in the head he is. Two Face was another highlight of the flick. So basically the bad guys were what really made the film.

I wasn't a fan of the ending much...but then again I can't really think of another way they could've ended it. The ending in comparison to Batman Begins was weak..there was no set up as to the villain in the third installment would be.

That's the thing, the entire movie was pretty much setting up for TwoFace to be the villain in the third movie--then it was like wait..wtf, he takes a fall and dies?

Plus, Lucious, Wayne, and Alfred destroyed the shit in the Batcave. I don't know wtf they're gonna do for the the third one but I hope it doesn't kill the franchise. Since Joker didn't die, I'd expect him showing up in the third, but no ones gonna be able to pull a joker off like Ledger.

I think its gonna pull 150 mil +....I'm hopin it beats Spiderman 2 cause its waaay better.
