Ok I got a serious request... Could anyone show me some songs from Lupe, or Common, Talib etc... that actually have a heavy beat or at least sound really different. Cause I do enjoy their rapping, but from the songs I've heard of them... mostly all the beats seem to be generally the same. I appreciate their lyrical ability, but it's sometimes tough to get into a song when nothing else about it sticks out. Like I ain't hating on Lupe or anyone, cause I want to get into their music.. but most of their songs sound so similar...
Like look at Chamillionaire (of course I'ma make a reference haha)... he's got some real meaningful and interesting lyrics... and his songs always seem to have an interesting beat.. or just something to them to make them different... whereas I find MCs like Common and Lupe don't really try to differentiate themselves with the actual music, and just keep a similar beat every single time. If I'm wrong on this.. please show me some stuff from them to prove it. Thanks!
