Here's the truth. Nas' best 5 tracks are better than Bank's best 5 tracks. But, Bank's entire discography (including freestyles/remixes) is far more listenable and enjoyable than Nas'. I could fill my Ipod with Banks' music alone and enjoy 90% of it. Nas' career is about 3x as long as Banks, yet I could not fill an Ipod with listenable Nas tracks. Yeah, his music is more thoughtful and thought-provoking, but shit man, alotta Nas music is straight boring.
That said, this new album by Nas has raised the bar because of the subject matter and lyrical versatility, and now its up to Banks to prove he can be versatile, while remaining hard.
