Haha I see y'all liking mixin shit..
they should jus used this beat it would hav been a little better
I'm far from a Lil Wayne hater but American Gangster would of been CLASSIC w/o Hello Brooklyn. That track prevented that album from reaching that classic status b/c every other track was fire except Hello Brooklyn. Lil Wayne should of at least rapped, that nigga instead sang and he sounds like Macy Gray singing. CUT THAT SINGING SHIT OUT WAYNE.
Can't really blame Wayne from stoppin a whole album to be a classic.. Some of the other songs were just decent at best.. Not like all of them will be remembered forever Like most songs from a classic album are.
Nah I thought pretty much the rest of the album except track 4 (hello Brooklyn) was on point.
1. Intro
2. Pray--------Best song on album
3. American Dreamin------FIRE!!!
4. Hello BK------average
5. No Hook-------Lyrical exercise/FIRE
6. ROC Boys------Classic
7. Sweet--------FIRE!!!
8. I know------- aight not whack but not super hot either
9. Party Life-----FIRE!!!
10. Ignorant shit------tied for best song on album
11. Say Hello------Calssic
12. Success--------Classic
13. Fallin------------Classic
14. Blue Magic------FIRE!!!!
15. American Gangster-------hot
dagod be honest? you bein too much of a hater right now...
wayne didnt ruin anything.. if in your opinion american gansgter wasnt a classic than jay ruined it...
and wayne didnt just "sing" his verse was better than jay's last verse...
"hello brooklyn whats your story/
she said she eatin on the run but she aint nore/
she said she got a man, but he aint worried/
but baby im'a have to rob him like horry(robert horry)/
common that was a nice couple of bars... he didnt ruin anything..
and if in your opinion the track was "average" then how does ONE avg track discredit an entire album filled with classic material according to you, to not be a classic album???
Because a classic album is for the most part flawless. "Hello Brroklyn" prevented American Gangster form being flawless because damn near every other track was hot, imo.
LMAO @ Lil Wayne having a better verse than Jay on that song. Jay's first verse ripped anything Lil Wayne said or better yet sang.
"Like a mamma you birthed me, brooklyn you nursed me
schooled me with hard knocks, better than Burkley
they say you murked me by the time i was 21
that shit disturbed me, but you never hurt me
hello brooklyn, if we had a daughter
guess what imma call her, Brooklyn Carter
when i left you for Virginia it didnt offend ya
cause you know i only stepped out to get dinner
and im eating, too much or just extra
so much so that dinner now turned into breakfast
i only roll lexus to hug your road
i love your corners, im half your soul
Hello Brooklyn"
The Best Song Was Say Hello, Then Party Life, Then I Know, Then After That I Dont Wanna Hear The Album No More....No Disrespect
IMO i think the best track is "No Hook" thats some lyrical 187 on the track.
PS: The beat for that mix is crazy. Good shit.
Its TI "Tell em I Said That" On That Overrated TI VS TIP Album
fuk this
Lil Wayne RUINED this song. Jay makes it at least listen able.
Liking the beat.
Why the fuck is this cunt trying to sing CHRIST, it's like hearing nails grinding on a chalk board.
SOME TELL THIS NIGGA HE CAN'T SING. It's amazing he himself hasn't noticed it yet, he just DOES NOT have a good voice.
Hello Brooklyn jus didnt fit in wit the rest of the album. it didnt make sense musically or lyrically. and it sounded 2 much like a lil wayne song. probably da worst song on the album. the rest fire. i like the t.i. sample though
This is a hot mix minus Weezy singing the chorus
Carter Need 2 Jump On Da Blue Magic Remix Bet He A R.I.P Da Track
they should have use this beat
Jay z album was almost a classic if not a clasic..... and i thought lil wayne made hello brooklyn bad but2 after replaying it and listining 2 what they are sayin....... hello brooklyn is a classic song.. 2 me anyway
and if u sayin a hook makes a song.... u might as well call soulja boy album a classic
Well, actually, a hook does make a song. You don't need decent lyrics.
Look at Soulja boy.
Need a good beat too.
and umm... defsounds.. ya really should mix more songs... this mix is 100% better than the orginal
THIS IS OK
I wasnt feeling this song. It definitely sounded like a lil wayne song feat Jay.
Wayne didnt come 1/10th as I thought he would doing a song with Jay. He's had better verses on R&B songs...
Wayne simply folded...
Jay's last verse is hott...
~Be Eazy!
I agree 100%. The song would of been hot if Wayne actually rapped to his full potential, he might of been intimidated by going bar for bar with Jay so he chose to sing instead of rap. LOL. Real Talk.
How do u claim your the best rapper alive and you don't even compete/prove that title by going against a legend like Jay. Like my man Wiz said (not in his exact words) but LIL WAYNE CHOCKED on Hello Brooklyn.
All great rappers compete with each other on the same track: Jay & BIG: Brooklyn's Finest / Jay & Nas: Success / Em and Jay: Renagade /Pac and Snoop: 2 of Americakkas most wanted/ Nas and Scarface: Favor for a favor etc.......
Lil Wayne was intimidated straight up, because he always goes hard on R&B features and Kahled features why didn't he go hard on Hello Brooklyn?
the point was to not outperform jay on his album...
how can you drop heat when your told you CAN'T outshine the featured artist? even though i liked wayne's verse i thought it was kinda funny, the rob him like horry was a tight bar..
umm..... lil wayne made this track b 4 jay z hopped on is...... jay z heared the track and ask weezy if he can have it and weezy gave it to him..... go jay z really hoped on a lil wayne track and put it on his album... it shows what jay think about lil wayne
true that^
BIG UP TO DEF SOUNDS!!! This was a marginal song but throwing that beat behind it livens it up(T.I. right?).Nice.
SUCKS
booooo bitch jay been done he use all def jam money for that cd
Dude,u need ta stop listening to 50.He has funny interviews but his words aint nowhere near being scripture, lol. Every album/artist release has its own budget, Jay CANT use all the money,he has his own budget, and budgets are determined by previous record sales and his own money to tap into, plus Universal fronted the money for the blue magic video,so dont believe everything u hear. One
VAGenazza,
You on point. 50 also was talking shit last year about how much DefJam spent on Kingdom Come and all his worshipers was believing it. Come to find out DefJam didn't spend anything on promotion. All the money came from endorsements.
The remix is straight.
American Gangster is one of Jay's best albums ever. Honestly I would put that album against any album since 2004. Song for song and line for line.
cosign to that homie, it's 4 1/2 mics to 5 all day... i can listen to EVERY track... my fav is def no hook though because he goes all out on that track
See the problem with that is...
These muthafuckas don't listen to lyrics now...
Anything that requires you to think just "a little" is instantly shunned as being "corny". Any artist like Nas, Jay or Lupe even that comes up with anything witty...
Or just a tad bit over someone's head is considered Garbage.
That's why the only shit that sells now a days is shit with...
"catchy beats, instructions and weak punchlines"
If it's dumbed down...it's a money maker!
I'm still mad that niggas said Kingdom Come wasn't classik!
~Be Eazy!
i gotta admit this is a ok tracc now dat defsounds took dat shit and made a remix cuz dat beat dey had early was not cuttin it lil wayne need to stop and think about da shit he puts on traccs b4 he put it in a tracc he need to sit in da mirror lik tip and ti and have a serious talkk with his self cuz dis t-pain shit aint workin or dese bullshit ass rhymes he been puttin out
fallin' is the best song on a g
u know what........ i think lil wayne sings on hooks cause its like what us guys do 2 a hook.... like how many guys b tryin 2 sing " i'm gonna put u 2 bed bed beddddd" ... just a thought.
that shit is ok. I think wayne could have came harder, i hate that remix, that beat is fire, don't think it go with the song
this remix is a lot better then the regular song
dig me
Yall Niggaz Crazy When You Think Of This Song Yall Automatically Start Rap'n Or Sing'n Weezy Part And If This Song Waz Wack Do Yall Think Jay Would Of Put This On Da Album???
what beat is that?
Scroll up.. it's "Tell em I said that" by T.I. Nice remix.. the original was average at best. The CD is still amazing with it on there so haters need to relax lol. For the people saying Wayne was intimidated and sang instead, I ain't a dickrider but like someone else mentioned, he made this track and Jay used it - he didn't hop on something that was done already.
yea that beats ti. whats wrong with all ya'll , "tell'em i said that" ti . tip u know.
really feelin that remix...
didn't really care for hello brooklyn...well waynes part at least but the A.G. album is a classic either way.
Best track on there is Say Hello....HANDS DOWN!
yeah that t.i. track is crazy...even the song he did to it go hard...but uh wayne did not mess this song up..his verse and hook are actually hot u jus have to listen...most of u niggas hear him singing and dont give it a chance...trust me his singing aint that bad ive heard worser and nice to see someone sometimes trying to be versitile wit hiphop and try something new...good song stop hatin on weezy
hot track
See the problem with that is...
