by JOKESTA
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 26, 2007
Rumored covered for Nas's forthcoming album Nigger.
COMMENTS
Can a nigga get some credit
I hope he goes through wit it. history in the making
propz ..hopfully it will be a very good album only nas can pull this off
how the fuck am i gonna buy this album? i'm gonna go to record store and tell the dude "let me get that new nas album, it's called uh....the n word."
i guess nas is tryin to deconstruct the word and strip it of its negative connotations, but i'll still never feel comfortable saying it
No Neeko, he looks like a well educated black man who taught himself, and did not rely on the poor ass school systems that are placed in predominately black communities.
Hopefully it's not a publicity stunt to sell records and I hope it's not for shock value. If it isn't, this should be a great, well-rounded album from one of the God MCs, Nas Escobar.
My bad Neeko, my comment was for ASUConnect. I made a slight error.
YOU SEE!!!
its the white boy that feels uncomfortable saying the word!!!
but i can see wut he's saying if u go to the counter to buy the album and the clerk is black,
"yeah can i get the NIGGER album"
is gon cause mass histeria!!!
Props to recon..
Thanks.
haha he beggin for props
this is a dope ass cover, very fitting for the album
Yes because u have listened to the album yet
Man i would have preferred a Che Guevara or malcolm X style cover, but dis jont straight. Keep it comin Esco.
You wack for sayin that. I hope you're some suburban white kid or jus plain ignorant. I can't even directly reply to such foolishness. i guess Nat Turner is a murderer too....
Real talk. It would of been a fitting cover if Nas was standing by the window wit an AK like Malcolm, but KRS already did that shit.
This cover ain't bad though, it has meaning. He's going for the "intelligent brotha reading" look lol. It's almost like reverse psychology, because back in the day a "nigger" wasn't supposed to know how to read but Nas is clearly reading on the cover.
is it just me or does this have that Dr. King or Malcolm x type of feel to it?
i think its just me...
its just you............. i think hes going 4 'aight now let me tell you a story and why this album is called nigger' type vibe
lol i love it
dope cover, im feelin the style he layin down, should be a nice lil album fareal
haha if u put that out, u give white kids the right to say nigger.... not even nigga- but nigger.
funny shit ha
Im hispanic but in my opinion i dont think white kids go around looking for excuses to say that word
I'm a black man and I don't give a fuck who said it cause a word is powerless unless some one tries to give it power, so if someone says a word that'll make u fight, cry, pout, and fart that just shows me that person has some individual problems on the inside so, I like the fact the nas is doing dis to show people dis ain't shit.
like
white kid: "hey do u wanna burn this cd 'nigger'?"
black kid: *shocked*
lol, I was just talking to me friend, what would happen if a white guy hated the album.
"I hate 'Nigger'! 'Nigger' sucks! I'm gonna burn 'Nigger'!"
lol, but seriously, nice cover, hopefully Nas can come up with another great album, I personally thought "Hip Hop Is Dead" was a great album, near-classic almost. His second-best album, in my opinion (we all know what his best album is).
*my friend
Black people in the counter
white costumers - Hmmm ye I would like 2 buy Nas album 'NIGGER'?
Black chicks - ohhh hell noooo.. U didnt jus call me Nigger... mothafucka Ill fuck U up white boy..who U callin nigga...nahhh... hold my earings tenisha hold my earings. lol
Diz album gonna bring a lot of shit...If you know what im talkin about or maybe
isnt that why hes doing it in the first place, to take away the negativity behind the word nigger, i aint sayin i agree/disagree just what i was led to believe
I hope dats not true. Its impossible to take the history behind such a evil word and translate it to somethin good. Its like erasing history.
it is possible the ony reason that word spells hatred is because that's what we was taught as we were younger.
that cover is good. but he looks a bit like Malcolm X on that cover for real. unique cover i must admit... I cant wait
da cover is cool, but i want 2 heat what nas is gonna do lyrically on this album. this has got 2 be one of the most anticipated albums of all-time.
SUPER COSIGN.
man y he really gotta name the album dat man
y don't you wait and see?
seens nice... I 100 percent support you brother.
illest dude around
Nigga u so wack. Stop watchin "Don't Be a Menace". there are barely no real radical dudes like dat. Thats jus ignorant cats like you who hate the dudes doin somethin youre not capable of bcuz you're too dumb and stupid to even comprehend anything. Moron...
Scoot, I'm right there with you fam; this is nothing more than a wack publicity stunt. He wants Jay's fame so bad that he'll denigrate his own people to do it. Selfish motives for sure..nothing good will come from this. I'll be burning a copy of this one...
That's what I'm afraid of, it could be just a huge publicity stunt.
I don't it is because this is going to lower his sales than raise them because so many people are afraid of confronting the word like it's God and it isn't
do you kno anything about nasir jones??..if u did then u would kno that nas has never worried about publicity...that's the least of his concerns..nas spits so sick that his name alone is all the publicity he needs..he is basically 1 of the only few dudes who is RESPECTED BY ALMOST EVERY MC...i 4 one can't wait for the tunes 2 come out and i will support him...i'm sure if he didn't have some fiyah inside of that plastic cd case he would not have started this debate by naming it "ni**a"[[1]]....
Regardless of whether it is a ploy to sell albums or not, the fact remains that Nas is an artist and as such he has a right and a purpose for entitling his work as he does. Many Black artists (and artists, in general) use the politically-incorrect to convey their message (in painting, literature, poetry, and yes, music). There is an enormous amount of shock value that his title evokes, but we as the audience shouldn't condemn him before studying his work. Let's see how he handles this small orb of great conflict and intensity. Then we should hear what the artist, himself, has to say through both his work and post album release interviews.
ie. Would you look at a blank canvas, only knowing the title of the piece to come, and say it's worthless?
Looks like some Malcolm X shit...revolutionary.
i like the look, didn't have this cover in mind when i heard the title of the album but i like
NAS CAN DO WHAT THE FUCKED HE WANTS TO DO. HE EARNED HIS STRIPES ALREADY.
agree^^...cover look like sum real serious type professor nas going on..
I want to see how this one is going to play out.
Shit looks mad dope b. Real talk.....that Album is gonna be Crucial I feel it
Sucka Nigga Lyrics by A Tribe Called Quest
Hey sucka nigga, whoever you are (repeat 2x)
Hey sucka nigga, hey sucka nigga
Whoever you are, whoever you are
[q-tip]
Aiyyo, turn it up muhammad
Turn everything up in the headphones
So I dont lose my vocals
Yeah thats good, turn my vocals a little bit
With the upper bassline
I be hatin sucka mcs, and the sucka niggas
Posing like they hard when we know they damn card
What you figure, rhyme-wise, I do the figure eight
So concisely, musically we are the herb so sit back
And light me, inhale *inhalation noise*
My style is kinda fat reminescent of a whale
Young girls desires for the females dreams
I be the abstract poetic representin from queens
Socially Im not a name, black and white got game
If you came to the jam, well Im glad you came
See, nigga first was used back in the deep south
Fallin out between the dome of the white mans mouth
It means that we will never grow, you know the word dummy
Other niggas in the community think its crummy
But I dont, neither does the youth cause we
Em-brace adversity it goes right with the race
And being that we use it as a term of endearment
Niggas start to bug to the dome is where the fear went
Now the little shorties say it all of the time
And a whole bunch of niggas throw the word in they rhyme
Yo I start to flinch, as I try not to say it
But my lips is like the oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop as I start to spray the
Sucka nigga, nigga nigga
I throw the sucka in the front for the ones that front
The sucka niggas, nigga nigga
I throw the sucka in the front for the ones that front
The sucka niggas, nigga nigga
I throw the sucka in the front for the ones that front
Its the neo-nigga of the nineties, cmon
I be hatin sucka mcs, and the sucka niggas
Posin like they hard when we know they damn card
What you figure, rhyme-wise, I do the figure eight
So concisely, musically we are the herb so sit back
And light me *inhalation noise* inhale *echoes*
My style is kinda fat reminescent of a whale
Young girls desires for the females dreams
I be the abstract poetic representin from queens
Socially Im not a name, black and white got game
If you came to the jam well Im glad you came
See, nigga first was used down in the deep south
Fallin out between the dome of the white mans mouth
It means that we will never grow, you know the word dummy
Other niggas in the community think its crummy
But I dont, neither does the youth cause we
Em-brace adversity it goes right with the race
Yo I start to flinch, as I try not to say it
But my lips is like the oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop, yo you know the rest
The sucka niggas, niggas niggas
I throw the sucka in the front for the ones that front
The sucka niggas, nigga nigga
I throw the suckas in the front for the ones that front
The sucka niggas, nigga nigga
I throw the sucka in the front for the ones that front
Sucka niggas, nigga nigga
Aiyyo shaheed, take us the fuck outta here
Lyrics to one of my favorite Tribe joints, much love...but where you going with this my dude?
sick cover......im patiently waiting for the best rapper alive
Hey Pretty Lady.. Haha
But yea, he could do something else with the cover..
Kinda like that Roots did.
Have an old pic, that shows a struggle. Not just him sittin in a chair.
i like dat cover it makes him look like he's about to teach us something
This is a nice cover...
its hot album gone b classic
where that single at?
where that single at?
Yeah....I'm ready to hear that 1st single.
Looks official if u ask me...yo i cant wait to hear what nas has to say on this one.
Its obvious what he going to do.....he'll be making alot of political statements and observations about society.Criticizing governments and possibly capitalism.
Trust me,it will be classic.
I couldn't disagree more. He's just trying to be all on Bill O'Reilly and CNN explaining his album, getting free promotion, basically doing Jay Z's job from when he was still at Def Jam. ANd don't be confused, off the mic, Nas is no KRS-ONE, he'll come off looking real ignorant on on of those shows. If the content ain't tight on this album, I'm through funkin' with him, and don't hate, b/c I've been a fan of his since 94'. Hip hop really must be dead if he has to pull a stunt like this.
your the reason he would be attempting this
I dont kno illseed, if a white kid came to me and INTENTIONALLY used nigger for the album name, we might have to get into some HARDCORE GANGSTA SHIT...lmao Might have to slap a few trucker hats off....jk
true i feel you...
im jewish b so if i heard someone say kike it would be offensive but if there was a jewish rapper (which there really is LOL) but if he was as big as nas and had his stripes like him...(illmat,still,gdson,etc etc) and he was comin with an album called kike and he was known for intellectual hip-hop, reaching positive and negative effects while covering each formality by honest truth and righteous judgement almost an established movement you can say and a kid came to me and asked did you buy that kike album? i wouldnt react hasrhly...
yet if he were to say did you buy that kike album? that album sucked because he's a jew or a kike and they cant rap then id be ready to blast fools! otherwise it should just be taken as another word if not used offensivley in my opinion though of course..
but then again im wiser then that and i would simply say did you buy the new nas album to avoid all possible negative altercation..right
true true
It better than it ever been
im really feelin the cover. its an up for black ppl despite the word
Nice cover ! no doubt
yo real recognize real
I DONT CARE WHAT THE COVER GOT ON IT...
as long as the cd plays... i know its gunna be
CLASSIC! one for the books!
NAS A LEGEND! DOPE COVER! CANT WAIT 4 DA ALBUM! ANY1 HATIN ON DIS NIGGA CA EAT A FAT DICK CUZ U KNOW NUTHIN BOUT REAL HIP HOP!
If Nas, the greatest rapper of all time, is titling his album "Nigger", on some real talk, it's going to have to be his GREATEST ALBUM EVER. He's gonna have to come HARDER than Illmatic, It Was Written, I Am, Nastradamus, The Lost Tapes, Stillmatic, God's Son, Hip-Hop Is Dead, Queen's Bridge 2001: The Album, The Firm, and Street's Disciple combined.
Why? Nas is ALREADY the MOST scrutinized rapper of all time, fair or unfair, but it's true. Every since he dropped Illmatic, EVERYTHING he's done has been compared to it... How many times have we heard, "It's good, but it ain't Illmatic", "Illmatic is better", "Nas was HUNGRY on Illmatic", and so on?
I thought HHID was classic, but THIS, whew... if y'all thought THAT album title created a riff in the country, sheesh... now you gone have people of ALL AGES and nationalities and walks of life scrutinizing these lyrics....
NAS, I WISH YOU THE BEST, PLAYBOY... DO YA THING... you HAVE to come harder than you ever came... AND GIVE US MORE THAN 16 TRACKS...
YOU SEEM A LITTLE EMOTIONALLY CHARGED.
YOU CALL HIM "YOUR PLAYBOY"? HOLD ON THERE BUDDY
