With that in mind, the G-Unit president launched One Stop Shop — a conference for producers — so budding beatsmiths won’t be faced with the same obstacles he encountered coming up in Queens, New York. “There were two guys in my ‘hood already making moves in the industry,” Sha Money recalled. The producers promised to help Sha, “but both of them never really came through.”
But Sha Money can’t be accused of not coming through for his artists. He confirmed M.O.P., Young Hot Rod and Olivia are all still on G-Unit but could only guarantee Hot Rod’s album would be released this year. Rod’s “Rock to It” video just wrapped and will be airing soon, Sha said. As for M.O.P., Sha said it’s been a bit tougher pushing their project through. “Honestly, I think they have an amazing album,” he said. “Those kinds of guys, you just can’t market; you got to just let them run wild. They’re some ugly guys — what you want to do, get them a face-lift? You got to just not spend too much money and make it a profitable situation. I would like to say, ‘Yeah, [they’re gonna come out this year],’ but I don’t wanna lie.”
As for the next few projects coming from the camp, Sha said he wanted to switch up the formula (50 Cent always coming first, then Lloyd Banks, followed by Young Buck, and so on). He said his plan has fallen on deaf ears, but he’s still tinkering. “The roster gets so full, the guys have to go every other two years,” he said. “I wanna get the sh—to like how Jay-Z was dropping every November. I need to get them like that.”

not to comment on their looks but the age of these guys hurts on how relevant they are too....he kept it real
damn...
M.O.P. is definitely hard to market...besides their look it's the music...it's wild, grimey, street shit...it's dope but it's not hittin' on a mainstream level.
BLocka, Blocka, Blocka... Them cats scream too much. When have you heard them chilled out??
they're looking for a group of pretty thugs
they're looking for a group of pretty thugs
That sounds really gay, and why would looks have anything to do with marketing Hip Hop artists. And T WhiTe is right, nobody wants to hear 15 tracks of dudes screaming "get'em get'em hit'em hit'em".Less screaming, more rapping will probably help these dudes.I mean Rocafella couldn't market them, then they said Jay-Z was handling there project right, now they're on G-unit, and the same thing is happening.
Correction, Jay-Z wasn't handling there project right.
just put the niggas out so the hardcore fans can cop the album
if the hardcore fans were buying their shit...they would have stayed indie. they want to make a living to maintain. exposure. since the days of television and videos marketing artist is a key move to popularity. if you can't relate to them be it look, sound, whatever it won't cross to the masses. and 10k ppl buy it and they lose.
that is enormous put it away said eddy to the sheep no said mr durkhiem yeah i know this is mad but so is throwing chairs get me Evil_Dre your mad i know what you said was right but why discriminate
All I can say is damn!!
lmfao......its true but fucked up at the same time.
Those cats are wack sometimes or majority. Those cats are two Lil Johns. They have energy i'll give, but in the car they're garbage....yeah street garbage.
m.o.p..shoud of never signed to the unit or the roc..its a shame they havent had a cd in a minute!!!
Ying yang twins, ODB and Craig Mack all looks the crack of your ass and they all went platinum. Most corny rap consumers can’t handle the Mash Out Posse. They should not have signed with 50 he don’t give a shit about them or anyone else. The entire G-Unit is just kind of sad anyway money or not.
how is mop 2 lil johns dumbass, they been here before that nigga. If u want the truth, all that yelling shit is onyx nigga.MOP is that real shit the WARRIORS album is a classic,if u think not cop that shit it's straight fire from beginning to end.one
If the niggas was makin dope tracks then they could be "marketable", this nigga is talkin out his ass, most these dudes in the south are makin money of the whole "Dirty South" type look: Dreads,shades,ect... they made some aight tracks and i'll say it again if they aint makin dope tracks they aint gunna sell and thats it.. looks dont mean shit.. look at lil jon and jay z.. haha
what if they signed with Koch?
man i dnt get how on hot song makes u some kinda legend i mean the album with the song was hella stupid...yall niggas jus eat 50's money at least for yall i get why u would sell ur soul to the devil unlike the infamous
I'm being called stupid by some cat called Daddylonglocks....lol Anyways that's not here nor there. I know what Onyx did youngin. I know being from Ga what lil Jon was doing before he was main stream. Remember youngin back then they were doing to the south what they are doing now to New York. So if you weren't from that area it's hard to say what the next man was doing. Yeah nigga I was a fan when i heard those cats first single. I stopped being a fan when I heard their whole album. How could you go to B.I.G. to Nas to AZ to Jay-Z to Boot Camp Clicc to Wu-Tang then to M.O.P. Sorry but I ain't feelin the lyrics....to much yelling. Premo made those cats hot. I don't have a M.O.P. album, Lil Jon album, or Onyx album. But I have Busta Rhymes albums(1st few). I have Ol' D.B's. album. I say them to say they have a purpose if they were to yell(being that they change styles like good artist) This is New York hip hop right to where nobody bites or swagger jacks. Hip hop is creativity and M.O.P just doesn't have it. Argued maybe the first album but what? Collect dust niggas.
throw a little rock and roll and some hiphop beats theres your market right there crossover appeal hard metal meets hiphop perfect!!
M.O.P is mad old yo i think their about 40 or 50 years old.
They been around fo ages but their work with Premo is tight.
Sayin M.O.P is to ugly to be promoted thats kinda out of line.
Ill bet they be goin of like yo where we at? after hearin about that shit.
MOP aint been the same since their first album, if you listen to their first album most of the production was done by DJ Premier and the album is fire....since then I dont think there's been a marketing plan for them, they just too grimey.....i still fucks with em though, I keeps their first album in the ride, "Blood, Sweat, Tears..." thas my shit, and that joint with OC is crazy hot.....
Looking at yall niggas comments just remind me of how fucked up music is today. Not just rap but music period. M.O.P. are some fucking soldiers to this hip hop, rap shit. I buy their joints everytime they drop some new exclusive shit, cause they some of the only niggas on that real NY shit, that 90's shit. Not these lame niggas like busta and them talking that NY shit. Anyway lil wayne, jeezy, dipset, and the rest of your favorite rappers are fucking trash.
Looks having nothing to do wid it, if they gansta they will sell to hood nuccas. Its the persona they aint really wid the PR & shit they rather get high write rhymes & get laid simple.
Yo, wtf, this ain't R&B music, when has looks become a factor in the rap game, I forgot to get that memo, can somebody send me that memo? That's just Sha hiding behind alibis cause they don't know how to push M.O.P. rite. Sha only wants to put the G-Unit rappers we know out, to make more money cause they slippin. That's not rite. If they part of G-Unit let em say what they got to say. DirtyPaperz, I agree wit u. But I will agree more if u follow Dip-Set movement, so what do u say? All u gotta write back is: Dip- Set will murder 50.
It's Dip-Set bitch
