Did Young Jeezy get Monie Love Fired?

by JOKESTA

THURSDAY DECEMBER 21, 2006

Did Inspiration inspire a termination? If you tune into the Beat 100.3 in Philadelphia, Pa, you will notice Monie Love is not there. If you call management , you will not get a returned phone call. If you ask for her voice mail, you will get the answer you are looking to hear. Monie Love is no longer with the company.

One would assume that Radio One has their employees back when it comes to struggles with artist. If you think this, you assume wrong. Allegedly Radio One management practices does not allow for anyone to stand in the way of their revenue. If you look at Monie Love’s incident , you are only led to believe she was let go or left Radio One because she spoke her mind and appeared to upset Jeezy. Once this action happened, she was put out in the cold street of Philadelphia. Once you cross the Delaware state line , cold weather has a different meaning.

What have learned here. If you are an artist and you are doing gift give aways and promotions with a Radio Station, you have pull and can get people fired. If you work for a station that recently got over a major assault incident, you can fired. If you think freedom of speech and opinion exists where you work, you can get fired. If you work in the entertainment industry and no one has your back, you should quit now or save your money because you are about to be fired.

To all the people who side with Monie in her opinion, streetroachpics.com suggest you show some type of support. Although streetroachpics.com may not agree, you should support your causes to show the people what is right and what may be wrong. Monie love has a myspace page and is a Myspace official DJ. If you don’t show Monie support, I guess she is right along with NAS Hip Hop is Dead.

I made a few calls, looked on their website, and there’s no trace of Monie. Check out the staff page: Beat 100.3 Staff page

Buiness never Personal. She reacted very personally. "I've been living it for 36 years". Who gives a Damn? First, she went off and totally dismissed Jeezy's claim in Hip Hop basically stating that Hip Hop is dead because of him and showed no immediate support. Second, you have a job to do. Do your little interview, find out what is going on with the artist and what is up in coming, and send them on their way after a little promotion for their product. She jumped off the cliff getting all loud and obnoxious. "Shut the Hell up with yo wack ass" I was laughing because she was all defensive as if she has ever been considered a major factor in Hip Hop. As far as a legend is concerned, she isn't one. You might as well conform to the new era of Hip Hop or as I say Flip Flop and put out something. It might sell a couple copies. Maybe not lol. 5000

hip hop IS personal. thats what you ig'nant clowns dont get!! hip hop is dead because its not growing anymore. all it's about is money hoes and clothes. how much (insert drug here) i sold, how many ni&&az i killed and how many bitches i smashed. monie love represents true hip hop, before it was corrupted buy corprate machine. jacked by rappin grannies on youtube and molested by people who have no knowlege of the culture. for you (CUT UP) to dis monie love because she got emotional about the desecration of what hip hop is shows that you dont love the essence of what it is. you dont respect the history. whether it be monie and latifahs "ladies first of krs-ones ny philosophy or even N.W.A's straight outta compton. lear to respect the architects. monie wasnt a legend like rakim but she did help pave the way for females like trina khia and kim. and look how she gets repayed for it HIP HOP is dead, a walking zombie, a functioning crackhead. and smart dumb ni&&az like you. are proof!!

First of all she insulted Young Jeezy's livelihood when she directly insulted what he does. Im sure no one wants to here that they're not only bad at their job but they're killing their craft. I'm sure you (Jokesta) wouldn't appreciate me saying that internet writers are killing Journalism.... I'd have a valid argument since your lack of substance in what you are writing and your many typographical errors, shows that you butcher many of the pure fundamental rules that make Journalism what it is. First of all you argument lacks any real backing. Its strictly your opinion, which is about as valuable as a 3 dollar bill. You have no facts, you could've gotten in contact with Monie and got a statement but no you ignorantly wrote your opinion and tried to pass it off as fact. As far as Im concernend thanks to you, JOURNALISM IS DEAD.

Whew! That was strong Nemisis. However You strayed far from the topic. I will not return the fire like you did with all those insults because I am a peaceful brother. Also, Hip Hop is peace so you reacting like you did shows that you are portraying the image of a bitter fool like Monie did reacting all personal lol. Big Buisness is what music (black music) is now. If it were to bring in as much money as it does now back in the day then everyone would've flipped the script like they do now. Money is the root to all evil and these jokers are gonna do whatever they can for it. Even if it means destroy the World renoun image that hip hop should potray and the message true hip hop heads convey through their music which is a direct reflection of their lifestyle. So be it. Listen, don't be angry where music or hip hop is going, just embrace the fact that the whole world has changed and you can't do anything about it. Forget hip hop, let's discuss how today's children are being exposed to all types of things that are so negative steadily contributing to the decline of our community. No, I will stick to the topic. Hip Hop lives through me. I however can not and do not have a bigger effect on it it for the world to see like these lean wit it dudes do. I bet you like dat shit too, don't you. I'll answer, Yes! Don't get personal with me. I just bleed hip hop that's all. The difference between me and you is that I am real about the drastic change to our society and how everything is F*&^ed up now. Like Puff said, "What Ima do now? Huh? It's all F*&^ed up now" Beat it you lame I am busy. 5000

I dont think that bum ass nigga got her fired. If anything that little interview was probably the biggest thing that happened to her in her radio career. Remember controversy sells and gets notice so for this too be so called big that would help he ratings, and most likely would not get her fired !

Carry on tradition. Hip Hop has evolved since the days of Monie Love. Call it what ever you want but it is not Hip Hop. Call it Crack Muzik,Hustle Muzik,Crunk Muzik, Murda Muzik, or whatever but it's not Hip-Hop. Monie was wrong for calling out his Craft, she should have been more tactful with her intentions/emotions everyone has an opinion and as a Radio Host your almost obligated to side with the artists and whatever their movement is to aid in their promotions so that they can get $$$.

All she had to do was listen to whatever Jive he had to say, make him do his little shout-outs and kept it moving. Wait till he get's in his car then put him on blast with some sublims. Everyone want's to go Kamikaze style calling out everyone by their government and stating their feelings/opinions but to me when to can address a mass audience and make them understand fully what your sayiong without calling out names is the sh!t, and it's more Tactful. it's like Hov said, instead of going after just one, dig a bigger whole and get them all at once.

Hip-Hop will always be dead as long as the New Genre of Artists continue not carrying on traditon and Paying Homage to the Pioneers that paved the way. Nas made a perfect example, Let me see how fast you can qoute a Big-Daddy Kane Line. And thats the whole thing a a Nutshell, these new cats are so oblivious to the past and are too ignorant to pay homage becuase their music is "CrACk" AND THEIR MOVING UNITS...

No, Jeezy did not get Monie fired... she had a contract dispute @ 100.3, and they wouldn't conform to what she wanted so she bounced... had nothing to do with HER SMASHING JEEZY! It was just coincidental!

You go noughskrilla!! Lyrics!Lyrics!Lyrics!! Yes, hip hop is dead. Yes, Monie went off. Yes, she had muthafukin' right to do so. What the hell is a Jeezy? Betta yet, who gives a damn! I saw a ref to the movie Paid In Full. Perfect example, if you're a real hip hop head you'd know that Dame Dash raped the orignal script and changed the title from "Trapped" to Paid... which is from the documentary "GAME OVER". So there are many trying to maintain real HH by exposing the truths about the drug game but the industry is only interested in sales. God forbid if an artist has real HH in his/her art. If they do, let's see how fast they get a record deal. Not only did Dame glamorize the era but it was only to promote his artist(Cam'ron). It's funny to see so called Black leadership go crazy over the Imus (nappy headed hoes comment). But nobody has anything to say about Cathy Hughes (the black owner of Radio One) firing Monie Love for grabbing this "crack muzik crackhead" by the juggler. How different is Jeezy (and anyone else who uses rap to demoralize and insult our people)from Imus? All of that shit is fed to us, our children, and even devils, THROUGH THE AIRWAVES. Media don't give a fuck about me or mine all it cares about is money, NOT Monie. Keep Up The devil's work Cathy Hughes!! Got nothing but Love 4U Monie!!!

First of all Hip-Hop is not dead. Just because hip-hop aint what it used to be when Biggie and Pac was alive. The only people streaming Hip-Hop is dead is East Coast n*ggaz. From Maine all the way down to Northern Va. That's how they feel. But from Southern VA all the way down to Florida and on to Texas, Hip-Hop is very much alive.
Now, to comment on Monie Love..She deserved what she got. Hoe, your a radio disc jockey, why did you let your personal feelings get you fired. And that b*tch from the U.K. She shouldn't even be commenting on Hip-Hop in America, because half of her life was spent in the U.K. where they don't here or see 100% of the music going on in the U.S. Second, someone was like, " You do know that's Monie Love right", talking to Jeezy. Even in my mind i was like, "So who the fuck is she", she had one hit on the radio, as far as i'm concerened, 1 hit wonders shouldn't be able to talk about shit far as Hip-Hop. She was just mad cause the era of Hip-Hop she grew up on has changed significantly. Nobody was hatin on the East Coast when they was on top. Nobody was hatin on the West Coast when they was on top. Now that the south has got the crown, East Coast wanna hate, just cause ain't nobody buying their music right now. Well first of all, East Coast muzik suck right now. Second all the East Coast niggaz are over 30 still trying act like they 20. And the sad thang is, they cant't even pass the torch cause aint nobody to pass it too. If you can name at least 5 new rappers from the East Coast that doing something pleaz hit me up. And if you say stupid shit like, Papposse wack a**, or Mims, i'm just gonna laugh at you. And real talk, i'm a southern n*gga that grew up on East Coast music too, and the only East Coast niggas that I think are worth listening too right now is, Fabolous, and Freeway, and Cassidy. Everybody else aint doin shit. And fo' real though, Fabolous trying to roll wit Jeezy. Fabolous all on Jeezy nutts and shit.
So to all ya'll East Coast niggaz, if Hip-Hop is dead, or lets just say ya'll type of Hip-Hop, that subway, rooftop, sittin on the stoop type shit, then blame ya'll selves for the lack of talent that's coming out of the East Coast right now.. Dont blame the other coast just cause ya'll shit aint sellin no more.. That's som playa-hatin shit. And East Coast Created playa hatin.
So yeah, that bitch deserved to get fired. And she aint no pioneer. 1 hit does not make you a pioneer
