Young Jeezy: The Inspiration or The Repetition
I tend to consider myself a Young Jeezy fan. Child of God and I Luv It are both part of the top 10 most played on my Ipod and Soul Survivor feat. Akon can be considered amongst one of my top 10 favorite tracks. I’ve bought both of his major label cds and some of his mixtapes, hell, I’ve even bought his independent releases back when he used to go by “Lil J.” So needles to say I was looking forward to listening to his sophomore release, Thug Motivation 102: The inspiration, the follow up to his platinum selling Lets Get It: Thug Motivation 101 released in the summer of 2006. Listening to The Inspiration, I can’t say that I was grabbed by many songs, and that’s because most of the songs sound too alike, the same flow, the same vibe, the same style, there is next to no variety in this album. They say an artist grows with his music, but it seems to me like Jeezy hasn’t grown much since Thug Motivation 101.The production: The one good thing about sounding the same throughout most of 14 tracks is that it maintains a steady flow. With productions from the likes of Timbaland, DJ Toomp, and Mr. Collipark, the tracks have a hard vibe ideal for bumpin in your system. But the problem remains with so little variation, you might be listening to one track and won’t realize when the next one started.
The Lyrics: What does Jeezy rap about in The Inspiration that we didn’t hear in Thug Motivation 101?...absolutely nothing. Thug Motivation 102 is actually a very fitting title, its certainly a continuation of what we heard the first time. More hoodtales of coming up pushing white, niggas getting shot, niggas wanting to shoot him, etc. There are some tracks however that try to go a different direction; In “Go Getta” featuring R.kelly, Jeezy seems to be attempting an odd blend of Trap Music and something to get the honeys on the dance floor, but it doesn’t quiet sound right. In 3 A.M featuring Timbaland, Jeezy creates yet another odd blend by having Timbaland on the hook talking about females and him riding the beat talking about gangsta shit.
The Stand outs: Though I didn’t enjoy the album as a whole, there are quiet a few tracks on it that are certified bangers…the only problem is, you’ve probably already heard them.
J.E.E.Z.Y: Not many rappers have managed to describe themselves in a track quiet like this one. If you don’t know what Jeezy’s about, you will after you hear this track.
I Luv it/Child Of God (Bury Me A G): The First 2 official singles off of The Inspiration are both noteworthy. The catchy hook in I Luv it and the enthralling story telling in Child of God bot display Jeezy’s lyrical and hit making ability. i luv itThe inspiration: One of the very few tracks on the album that display some variations. Instead of his usually sound, Jeezy opts for a somewhat soulful track.
The Wrap Up: With next to no variety, lyrically or production wise, Jeezy delivers exactly the same thing he gave us with Thug Motivation 101. The good thing about that is, old fans know what to expect and new fans won’t have to go out and buy the first CD. As I said before, Jeezy shows little growth in this album.

COMMENTS
If he has no growth and the album has no Variety, how did he still get a 7/10
the only reason he got that was maybe because of his sales, but besides that the lil scrappy album is 10 times better
We knew what was coming.....And he is upset that nas thinks hip hop is dead......I like jeezy like the next man, or maybe i like jeezys PRODUCTION as much as the next man....I love the fact he is gettin that paper, but in terms of making quality good music....the cd definately lacks the variety and the substance that hip hop was built upon
jeezy is wack he should of got a 5/10 he's lyrics are wack, beats and hooks make him.
JEEZY IZ DAT NICCA!
jeezy ant a bum..but he need to swich it up a lil i bought the album and i was impressed i was expectin ALOT more but i got what jezzy always give the same thing...but if it ant broke dont fix it, he know what he good at and he keep doin it...he tell hood tails so do him...but im a fan of hip hop so i wanna see diversity but he gives his followers what they wanna hear from him...so let him do him

I think this album is ok, it's almost the same as "Let's Get It" rate wise i mean. The some songs "Go Getta, I Luv It, and 17.5 bring out some of the best of Jeezy. The overall album is ok. If you are a Jeezy fan it's real nice, but if you ain't than it's not gonna be a classic album.
7/10
