The album is split up into three different acts. Act I starts off with T.I.P. Act II is T.I., and Act III is T.I. and T.I.P. together. The concept of the album is to have T.I. going up against his other side T.I.P. T.I. is supposed to be the calm business man, while T.I.P. is the ignorant loose cannon who will do whatever he wants whenever he wants. T.I.P. Is a lot more brash and lets his actions speak for him, while T.I. is the calmer more mature business man who thinks before he acts, and is conscious of his actions.
Act I The Concept for the first song “Act I” is ingenious the tone/direction of the album is set with this intro. T.I.P. Starts off calling Atlantic records on the phone and going on a tantrum, telling the executives that since his boy died he does not want to rap anymore. After hearing the intro, I couldn’t help but get a twinge of excitement from what was to come. I assumed the next song would stick to the concept and T.I.P. would continue his take over, but instead the next song was big shit poppin. Act one consist of
Act I (T.I.P.)
3. “Raw” Lil’ C
4. “You Know What It Is”
5. “Da Dopeman”
6. “Watch What You Say to Me”
7. “Hurt”
Lyrics-7
T.I.’s or T.I.P’s (whatever he calls himself) flow is on point and smooth through every track as usual. He has never been a lyrical monster but his ability to ride the beat makes up for it, at times his strong accent may hinder the casual listeners (in laments terms they may not understand what he’s saying) but this rarely happens.
Production- 7.5
Almost every beat on this album is up tempo but that is not unnecessarily a bad thing. For the most part the beats are very enjoyable and will have even the most avid south hater nodding his/her head to the rhythm. But the production suffers with repetitious beats. Its not that the majority of them are up tempo its the fact that a lot of them sound like they came off of the K.I.N.G. album, and just had a couple of new sounds added to them. Listening to songs like DopeBoy and Raw you will get a sense like you have heard the song before.
Act II Act two picks up with T.I. waking up from what he believes is a nap, and hearing about all of the things that he has done. T.I. adamantly denies it all until he realizes that it was his alter ego T.I.P. who did the damage. He then goes on the next six tracks to pretty much clean up the mess that T.I.P. has made.
“Act II (T.I.)”
9. “Help Is Coming”
10. “My Swag” Wyclef Jean *
*11. “We Do This”
12. “Show It to Me”
13. “Don’t You Wanna Be High”
14. “Touchdown”
Songs-7
T.I. /T.I.P. sticks to the watered down album format, being sadly predictable. A couple of gangsta songs, a couple of songs for the women, a few conscious songs here and there, and something new. Mix it all together and you have his album. But in my honest opinion almost every single song is a banger. There are maybe two hit and misses, but for the most part its a good album. Songs like “you know what it is” Featuring Wyclef, are boring, common and predictable, and “Raw” sounds like a remixed version of “Im talking to you”. But songs Like “DopeMan”, “Help is on the way”, “tell em I said”, “My Type” and all three of the Acts give the album a good balance of conscious and personal. As far as the battle between T.I. and T.I.P., there does not seem to be that much of a difference, and if there is, it is not that big of a difference. If it were not for the acts in which they blatantly go at each other, you would just assume it was a regular old album.
15. “Act III (T.I. vs. T.I.P.)” *
*16. “Tell ‘Em I Said That” *
*17. “Respect This Hustle”
18. “My Type”
Conclusion
So far this is the best album that I have heard this summer, it is a very enjoyable CD, it is definitely worth the money. As much as I enjoyed this Album, I must say that the original concept of this album was either ignored, or just isnt clear enough. Outside of Acts I-III I fount it very hard to decipher T.I, From T.I.P, it sounded like every other T.I. song I ever heard. If you listen to the entire CD without the Acts and without looking at the book to tell you which alter ego is on the track (T.I. or T.I.P.) you wouldn’t see much of a difference. For an Overall Album he gets a seven, but for concept he gets a 5… overall the album is about a 7, He breaks the mold by trying a new concept but falls back with the typical delivery.

Now dude uza bytch for sayin that! Knowing if it was a Lil Wayne cd...u probably fuck wayne in the ass for it u pussy azz nygga! U seen JAY_Z where he put someone in there place and U DONT LIKE IT! Yeah his verse is about the copycat azz Wayne bytch!
anyway.
Only song i dont like is the one with Nelly. That beat too mellow! So i give it a 9! Pure fire on every track. Production was great too! It is a classic album! My Type is the best song next to Tell Em I Said That! 4 sho. The Kings back! He shouldve got a neptune, swizz, and a kanye beat!
This review was perfect. The beats weren't the greatest, but T.I.'s overall vibe on tracks was tight. I think that T.I. & Nelly song was tight; Nelly spit a hot verse for once. I think some other good tracks were Hurt with two good verses from Busta & Alfa Mega, Help is Coming (the only really good beat on the album, JUS BLAZE), and We Do This. Overall it was a good review, and everyone should go cop this album!
Conclusion
So far this is the best album that I’ve heard this summer, and is definitely worth the money. On the other hand, as much as I enjoyed this LP, I must say that the original concept of this album was either ignored, or just wasn’t clearly executed. Outside of Acts I-III I found it very hard to decipher T.I, From T.I.P, as it sounded like every other T.I. song I ever heard.
what a lame conclusion! dude how can u not tell. T.I. (professional more well spoken) and T.I.P. (Hyper attitude with the fuck the world attitude) Maybe u need to play the album again! lol
ALEXRIV remember this; if you wanna make a review from an album you got to stay in the middle, don't give an album a 9/10 if you are just a fan of him, a 7/10 is good figure...
Heard Jay verse wasn't better than any of Waynes. Jay Z should have stayed retired battling days been over since Ether......guess he won't be satisfied until he catches another L!!!!!! I respect TI though I think this will be another head banger.
I wont be messing wit dis record like that. All the songs sound mad similar to KING.And im kinda getting annoyed to listening to him talk about the same shit. But i know i'll be copping Kayne West,50 Cent, and give a listen to Serious Jones album.

red gone wild was fire but Tip got that cd by a long shot! And (well fuck that dude name) but the one that was like (HE TALKIN ABOUT THE SAME SHYT!) fuck u clown. Apparently u havent even or u DONT listen to his albums. go back to the drawing board!
cd is wack
Ive Been saying this album was going to be trash. And this just confirmed it. All the songs he had as singles were wack. And your single is the selling point, and if they're weak then the album will be. T.I. is just a basic rapper.
Aye. The CD leaked on the net and I have it. If you want it hit me up on inferno540212@yahoo.com PLZ HAVE YAHOO MESSENGER OR YOU WONT GET IT.
everybody has it and im sure they can get it without you....
BOOO. waste of money.
man i been havin this cd. its called 'leaking'
Red Gone Wild was trash. 1998 music... and bad at that. T.I vs T.I.P is the superior cd, easily. I'd have given it an 8.
DAMN U REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND HIP HOP NOT RAP HIP HOP
fuck no, red gone wild aint trash, you dumb ass bitch! redman kills t.i. anyday, at least if you aint a half retarded man who sucks dicks for fun.
I dont have Red's CD but Im sure its better than this shit lyrically. But if you wanna compare them a little more, go listen to TI Im Talkin To You, then Download "Fuck Ya Opinion" (off Redman mixtape over Im Talkin To You Beat). Redman murdered that shit
That is all
I heard tha album & got tha album I give between a 9 or a 10 its tite as hell my type & da dopeman r tha bes 1s & big shit poppin
I loved [Urban Legend] because he dropped one of tha top 10 hottest tracks of tha century which was "U don't know me", that will forever be a banger to me, it speaks volumes, then he go and do a cd like [KING] and ever single song on tha cd was hot, except for tha last track but I figure it just because tha whole rest of tha track was a burner he gave something to kool u down, and now his last cd does tha same thing; T.I. know how to make good music, and I remember getting Nelly's cd, and noticed you could sing every word from country grammar to every other songs beat on tha whole damn cd, it was crazy, but when you take a good songs chemistry and sprinkle it througout every track people will love it, yes predictable but your mixtapes are where you can be you, on an LP you can take risk but you taking risk with your money, you gotta give people what they want, and thats tha real reason why he got that hip-hop award, you go back and see all tha people that have won it; it's cuz they give tha people what they want...
Luda got that grammy because he crossed over into something new tha right way, he used Mary J and talked about a sensitive subject in this economy, and that was smart because if you gon switch it up you don't just switch it up exactly how you may want it, you mix as much of you up as you can and adjust it to make people swallow it...T. had a concept with his cd, but still knew he needed to give tha people who voted for him what they wanna hear...That's why he did tha mixtape [(I Am) T.I. vs T.I.P.] You might see his concept a little more expressed on that, but tha LP ain't just for people who like T.I. but for people who buy T.I. cd's...You can still hear both on this cd, it's just hard to look past if you're real critical of music which isn't a bad thing (some of tha time)LoL, but it just gets in tha way of your just appreciating good music factor...
WAITING 4 9 4 07 GUNIT
DID YALL HERE LLOYD BANKS NEW FREE STLYE
Oh and when I say tha people I ain't just talking about fans I'm talking about those electronic fans, tha places where you can see who buying tha cd, according to that is how he figure ok, I'll put this on there and that on there because tha last time he did it that way he made a classic album, if he really wanna unfold, he'll give us a mixtape...
fuck ti and tip am I the only one who thinks that is a bullshit concept, i dont give a fuck about either, he needs to quit the king of the south shit because he will never be a legend like 8ball & mjg, ugk, and the gheto boys. I wish someone would beat both of their asses.
man you retarded ti an ugk are the kings of the south dumbass but outkast is right beside dem niggas also. 8 ball mjg roundout top 8 wit lil wayne an BG commin as well
I cant wait 2 hear the album, i like the concept, http://www.datpiff.com/Str8-Business-Life-or-Death-Entertainment-The-Eay-mid3190.html
i downloaded it but i might go out and buy it
I liked the album. Thought it was hot.I was feeling that "Da Dopeman" track. I thought that shit was hot as hell. But my feeling is that this albulm is worth a buy most def. I have a bootleg copy and a real copy lol.
My bad i meant to say i'm going to get the real copy.
B/C he doesnt care.^
ayyye
yo this album is gona be hot as hell
cant fuckin wait
dis album sucks lyrically
u cant hear a word dat nigga saying specially da track wit jay-z
waitin' 4 50 album
I will buy the album...
I'm collecting original hip-hop albums...
I posted the link for the
people that ain't gonna buy the album...
P.S. I think that T.I. already has enough money...
Jay-z still the king. I fuck with Wayne but, copycat never better then the original. Two hot albums an't gona do it,he hot for now but he need to put more time in.At first I couldn't fuck with T.I but son is doing his thing. Support that man.
I agree with this rating, nice job.
I agree i thought the concept was a lil iffy..but the songs on this album...DAMN! This is some hot shit, the beats are so epic! His rapping has gotten better and the subjects are more original. Even though i'm a T.I. fan i still think this review was a lil harsh...prolly shoulda gotten 8.5 or 9. GRAND HUSTLE!!
already heard the album...it is sick...shouldve got a better rating, but regardless, its a hott album...MOS DEF AN ALBUM TO KOP!
dstats stop riding this mans dick, he was nice a couple of albums ago but king sucked and the jury is still out on this one. This guy interviews himself, comes in as one nigga leaves and comes back as another almost fights himself (lmao) come on now! This gimmick is wack as hell.
i ll get that on bootlegg,,, and ill buy it on sale at target for 9.99, ummm im waitng for that kanye and fifty album especially after 50 went back to the studio to fix his shit up, out bitches, HA HA HA HA HA HA
FUCK OUTTA HEAR TI IS WACK AND WTF YALL TALKIN BOUT DIS ALTER EGO SHIT AINT ORIGINAL EVERY FUCKIN RAPPER DONE DID IS BUT TI DONE TOOK IT 2 DA EXTREME AND IT IS WACK I MEAN CASSIDY DUN DID DA SPLIT PERSONALITY, JAY DUN DID JAY-Z VS SHAWN CARTER, I MEAN ITS NOTHING NEW!!!!
already bootlegged it..like couple days ago...aint listend 2 it yet..but i heard its good
When niggas start hating on you... you KNOW you doin something right.
I AINT HATIN IM BEING HONEST YALL NIGGAS TALKIN BOUT DA EAST DONT GIVE DA SOUTH RESPECT I MEAN IF TI IS YALL NO WONDER!!!!!
If deff copin this ......TI is runnin the south and one of the nicest dudes on the mic these days so yeah ima go 2 best buy july 3rd and grab a copy
No lie man I like T.I. and all but damn man, this cd is KING pt 2....half of the beats are just amped up versions of the ones off of KING and the flows are even damn near identical...Da Dopeman gets annoyin after the 3rd time listenin.....Watch what u say to me is a BANGER tho and may very well be the best track on the album...I don't think this is garbage by any means, but a classic NOPE, average work...I rate it a 6/10 personally because it sounds like I have heard it all before and the split personality idea is well u know, played out nowadays everybodys done it now....One thing T.I. definitely does not do is send any different messages or drop any punchlines he says the same content on nearly every track but its still iight....Not coppin it tho 1
i agree....like real talk yall the beats on the shit is straight but he could of done better lyrically...he rushed this album.
T.I..man one of the dopest albums this year by far...IM A WESTCOAST RESIDENT..AN I GOTTA GIVE IT TO HIM AN HIS PASSION FOR MUSIC...I SEEN HIM PERFORM YESTERDAY 6/28/07..AT A SECRET LOCATION IN L.A for power 106fm..AN MAN HE LET OFF A GOOD SHOW EVEN THOUGH IT WUZ LIKE 10SONGS ONLY DJ DRAMA WUZ on the tables that wuz cool...but his new album is straight fire..he took time to talk to the people laugh an shit..but over all cool dude...so yeah we juz hope the real fans go out there an buy it instead of burn it..help the boy out...wut up T.I...u put on a good show..worth the wait...PEACE..GRAND HU$TLE...
T.I KING ALBUM WAS TOO HOT TO HANDLE DIS ALBUM SHUD BE HOT
YO! DI ALBUM IS GOOD SO STOP ACTTING LIKE U'ALL GETTING PIAD FOR RATING IT IF U DON'T WANT IT DON'T BUY IT THATS ALL.
My swag aint wack..it just sounds like it belongs on a mixtape
IM GETTIN THIS T.I. VS. T.I.P. SHIT WHEN IT HITZ THA CHATRZ
i say ti vs tip is tha best albnum of tha summer til somebody else dropp and yall on tha wayne tip he garbage he copy any swagg dats good and cass and jay did it befo but ti did his dang on here but he jay is a bitter he dont write fo hisself he got a ghostwriter (except for kingdom come he wrote dat garbage shit) and nas could and should had killt his fukin carrer like somebody needs to do to waynes (he aint nothin but baby with errbody style and swagg)
You sound retarded saying jay had a ghostwriter...Do use real HipHop fans a favor and kill youself
yall ppl are blind to conent. all this cd was, was recycled beats and concepts...same ole similar ass short word phrase hooks. the beats sounded too similar to the ones off of king or similar to other beats that producer has made.Big Shit Poppin = Young Jeezy "and then what" mixed w/ sounds from "Undertaker". "my type" basically sound like "live in the sky" remix. Dopeman has some youngbuck song(cant remember the name) spelled all over that beat.we all can tell where "raw" came from (talkin to you). help is comin has the same instruments as raw.dont you wanna be high is like the same pace and style of "why you wanna". Jay made the worth of "what you say". "we do this" is made by the biggest recyclers in the game = the runners.. I'll give him credit for "My Swag", "Hurt", and the acts... but when i heard all the other trax, the 1st thing i said was "yo this remind me or sound like....." i dont wanna hear the same or recycled stuff in a cd....
This album sucks i've already listened to it and i wasnt impressed this is one album i cant stand...Fabs album was much better who ever wrote this review is a moron and should get slapped a few times on the face.
Fabs definately better than dis, neva really liked t.i. albums only like songs he put out on vid. I cant tell diff between t.i.p and t.i.
Im a big t.i. fan definitly think he is one of the best in the game and i will buy the cd on tuesday cuz i wanna see my nigga make his money But yeah im a little confused wit this split personality shit. I kno in the big shit poppin video tip is supposed to do the show but it shows "ti" puttin his clothes on and goin to the stage But yea thats my nigga and ill have the cd anyway "King of Da South"
xcluse is pretty much on target about most of the songs on this CD sounding like we've heard it before. But that doesn't change the fact that these tracks are HOT. The first two singles are hot as hell obviously and we've heard the Jay-Z and Eminem features for a week or so now, also hot, no shit. Still we haven't heard the Busta feature and damn was Hurt FIRE. TI really shines in Act II and III with the songs that hadn't already leaked: Help, We Do This, & Tell Em I Said That (which is the best song in regards to actually holding to the album's gimmick). The Nelly song is something I wanna hear in the bars cuz its a bit different then the current club bangers out. My Type was good and introspective. Wasn't really feelin Raw, My Swag, Don'tcha Wanna Be High, and Respect This Hustle.
"They say bootlegging is up... I don't notice." We'll see about that tip
HIP HOP ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!(that song with Nelly was wack though)
