Lyrics 6.5-I thought he would step it up for his album but not really. It's the same. Nothing outrageous. A lot of corny similes, great flow, great delivery, high energy and a lot of mumbling. He takes pauses in some of his verses which can be very annoying but he isn't as painfully bad as some may claim. Wayne is by no way near a lyrical monster, but his verses are enjoyable and he has moments where you will catch a line or two that will stick out. However, if you're looking for complex lyrics, you're probably looking at the wrong album.
Production: 7.5- The production is a lot like the lyrics, nothing horrible, but nothing breathtaking either. Nevertheless, the production is solid, with enough uptempo production to keep the heart pumping, a soulful track or two, the smooth mellow tracks which are usually used for the ladies, and and of course the production style that Wayne is usually known for.
Songs/Content 7- In the eyes of many this album was supposed to be a statement album. The Carter III would finally prove that Wayne is by far the undisputed #1 rapper in the hip hop game. There would be no more arguments. There would be no more criticism because after hearing this album, even the harshest wayne critics would be convinced. So every song on here had to be on an entirely different level from anything you have ever heard from him, including the mixtapes that have come out from him. This had to be on an entirely different level... and it wasn't. There really is no point to this entire album. There is no general feeling and no direction. It could have honestly just been another mixtape. Songs like Mr. Carter, 3peat, Tie My Hands, and Dont Get It, grab you and make you want to listen, but Hov outshines him on Mr. Carter. I don't get it. He raps for three minutes and talks for seven. Some listeners may be turned off by Tie My Hands' content (an introspective), but it shows that Lil Wayne isn't all drugs, money and sex. Dr. Carter is a fun song depicting what Wayne feels he is to the game, but out of these outlined tracks everything else is enjoyable but easily forgettable. "La La " is a total disaster, and "Nothing On Me" is mixtape material.....a "filler".
Conclusion 7- As the last song plays and the music comes to an end, two things will remain the same. Grass will continue to be green and Lil Wayne will still not be the best rapper alive. This album is by no means a throw away, but with the same regards, it is not and should not be considered a classic. Does he have good songs on this album? Yes. Is the production good? Yes. Can you listen to this album straight through? That's up to the individual listener. But to label this a classic or to give him the throne as hip hop's ultimate elite emcee would be a mistake. Lil Wayne puts up a great effort, but leaves listeners with a decent outcome, better luck next time.

he can do much better than this..
"Grass will continue to be green and Lil Wayne will still not be the best rapper alive."
Couldn't Of Been Put In Any Better Wordz. Nice Effort Better Lucc Next Tyme And No It Was Not Worth Tha Wait Nor Does It Even Come Anywhere Close To Tha Hype.. Honestly Tha Wait And Leaked Fucced It Up But At Tha SAme Tyme I'm Not Complainin Cuz I'm Not A Lil Fan From Jump Street. Just Like I Give Ear To Most Of Tha Shyt That Is Being Puped In Tha Airwars I Do With His Music. In Conculsion I'd Like To Say He Didn't Even Top Carter Three But There Is Maturity In This Cd (C3) Overall Though 7/10.. Scream At Me,1..
yea i agree but there was one song that i thought was really good like on another level. Shoot Me Down was sick. i dont kno if theres a meaning but it seems like there was unlike most of his tracks. Listen to that let the beat build, 3peat, dr. carter, mr. carter, playin with fire and tie my hands and thats maybe it.
Wow...I checked the reviews page all morning waiting for this and it was worth it.
No bashing or clowning... just honest opinion.
I feel the exact same way. The album could've been just another mixtape. Mr Carter is my shit. The hook stays with you throughout the day...and Jay did his thing on it.
Wayne was on the track too but he really didnt need to be.
Jay did him pretty much the same way he did Rick Ross on Maybach music.
Totally made you forget that he was just "featured" on the track. Also, let the beat build annoyed me. The beat was hott at first, but it irritated me after a while, and Wayne's mixtape-ish flow... just didnt do it for me.
I think I'm just numb to him... but whateva it is...he doesnt move me lyrically. He gives you just enough to "ok...not bad". But nothing that makes you say DAMN!
If this album was a typical mixtape that he made overnight or something... it'd be aiight at best. But 3 years???
Regardles of all of the "leaks" and dl'd tracks... it still wasn't something that shoudl've resulted from 3 years of hard work....PERIOD!
It's a chill little cd he made for the radio...not for hardcore hiphop heads or lyric lovers.
To put it quite frankly, regardless of how many cd's Universal buys to protect it's investment or how many cd's he actually sales... ALL TALK OF HIM BEING THE GREATEST should be nipped in the bud....FINALLY!
3 years???? Well the good thing about all of this is:
There's always NAS's new cd dropping next month!
~Be Eazy!
If he could've somehow made an album on the same level as Carter 2...not even better... but just on the same level as Carter 2... I would've gave him all of the respect in the world...seriously. Carter 2 is a decent ass album, and he actually had different concepts or actual points to the tracks.
This cd is just him RHYMING for the most part...
Oh well... I'm quite sure somebody's gonna make a Carter 3.5 mixtape or something.

I usually just read the articles and listen to the singles and save the comments for other niggas, but someone has to say something about this nigga Wiz.
No one gives a fuck about what you think.
Do everyone a favor and quit droppin dozens of comments on every wayne article and song. Quit being a closet wayne fan and just admit that u were one of the first mother fuckers to cop his album, you listened to the shit all the way thru, and now you come on here talkin all this bullshit. One comment is enough nigga, you dont need to drop 30 comments sayin the same bullshit about how u dont really feel lil wayne. we get it nigga, now move on.
Carter 3= a decent album, not great, not bad. nuff said
YO WIZ SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!! damn u talk(type) to fuckin much... shit is annoying get a job.
Why are yall niggas mad at another man's honest opinion? WTF is that about? Wiz didn't even hate on C3 for example by saying it's hot garbage or that Lil Wayne needs to retire. He kept it 100. Yall still mad?
i completely agree with Bangedyagirl.. i didnt wanna be the one to hate but we just got a review up above.. maybe one person gives a shit about yours but no one else is gonna base their opinion on lyricalthought's opinion, nevermind yours.. i like his review i agree with a lot of it but i read yours and it was basically just repeating what he already said above us.. shut the fuck up you aint shit.. you're nothing, you are not important to this site. in fact, you are a nusance.. a completely ridiculous nusance.. and scoop too.. shut the fuck up..
sorry everyone else, felt good to get my hate out for a minute
ha ha, the prototype weezy dickrider Scoop is catchin feelings after reading this review.
the review was ok, but the production should have gotten a higher score. the beats were sick, but some of the choruses were lame and some shit weezy spit was just dumb the "assassinate me bitch" line in shoot me down. as barkley would say, that was turble
anyways, a 7 or 8 is a fair score. the best song is "i'm me" which was intended to be the real Carter 3 intro before it got leaked last year.
why yall hatin on Wiz?? da nigga been here longer than all of us, and his multiposting of his opinions is nothing new...you noobs need to learn yall place aka anyone with under 150 posts....and scrillstar lol

PLATINUM BABY
HE STILL DID BETTA NUBERS THAN ANY OTHER NIGGA THESE DAYZ
Ay La La is my shit.
Because the beat RIDE.
u suck at living
Let The Beat Build is hot
that review was terrible honestly lol
hell yeah it was..he didn't make the album in 3 years..it kept getting leaked in the the drought is over mixtapes..and plus it wasn't this whole to see it he was the best thing..he freestyled majority of it if not all of it..and the reason he put the baby face on it was because he had to..they had an agreement for him to be on the album and making an entire new song because it got leaked was out of the question
album gets a 8..beats were absolutely a 9 at least..there weren't and bad ones on it
but trust me..if wayne sat down and wrote this album and put actual time into it (3 years..lol) it would be a classic album no question
THERES A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HATING AND HAVING AN OPINION
STOP HATING!!
Hello Mr..... your wrong... so why so serious
I liked C3 to be honest even though it was leaked
Let the beat build is the hottest track the Cd really has no direction... i mean how many songz can he make too many leaks and mixtapes if we never heard those he could have about 2 3 classic albums... gossip, i know the future, i'm me etc...
HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WITH THIS ONE, THERES ABOUT 5 SONGS I CAN LISTEN TOO THE REST I FORGOT ABOUT... WORTHY OF YOUR EARS... mr.carter, shoot me down, let the built build, tie my hands, nothing on me... and where the fuck did he pull that "ASSINATE ME BITCH" voice out of... sounded like dude was 13 with a pimply face... falls way short of becoming a classic so who gives a shit if he sales!
a moron would not understand wut he was saying there, open ur ears and listen to wut he said after that,
great review...seays everything that needs to be said but
i think for just haveing that phone home track and the 10 min long one where he raps for like 2 and talks the rest should take his score down another few notches
LyricalThought, Great Reveiw.
Just as I ha told mY nigguhz, this is the album that will declare him as a Up-To-Par Rapper....He does come with some heat, but its not the album we were expecting to hear.
100$ says wayne comes with an album that proves hes everything he claims when no one expects it.
Reviews and critics don't mean shit...It's nothing but opinions.
This shit is still gonna sell with all the hype it has.
Good review.
After all the droughts & countless leaks of his stuff.. I think this album is good something along the lines of what i expected..
dats wat I've been sayin all along
yo thats real talk when i first heard this album i was like yo this shit no were near a classic
i expected this album to be like this i used to think he was the best but that was a while ago hes been on a downward spiral for a min now shit the drouht is over 4 was hotter than this
its far from a damn classic but its probably gonna go gold just cause its wayne
i feel that!
he has been on a downward spiral. USED to b the best EVER now he jus a legit rapper...tha drugs is killin his brain cells....Drought3 was the business drought4 had some coo ass songs...His mixtapes is hotter than CArter III...i was low key dissapointed. All his other releases had direction...i was dissapointed
I agree with a comment I read before saying if half he's songs off mixtapes weren't leaked and came out on da carter 3 this wuld be a classic album...sum examples are Im a Beast, something you forgot,trouble,1000 degrees, outstanding
u right!!!
Nevertheless da album is straight not a classic but a good album...il give it a 7 to 7.5 out of 10...keep doin ya thang weezy
oh yea if u didnt get it, go get plies cd damn near every song is hot on there, id like to see a review on here for his album
Nas' mixtape is better than waynes album
The Nigger Tape>Tha Carter III
preach
mixtape about nothing > carter 3
I Didnt Think That Waynes Carter III Was Gone Be Classic Cause I Know Wayne Fell Off After Drought 3 He Coming Back Now A Little But Once You Hear Tha Mobb And BM JR Nothing Wayne Does Now Comes Close
Real talk though, U cant really blame da nigga after all da songs dat got leaked dat wur suppose to be on the album... He recorded sum ov those joints at da speed of light ya dig
fuckk man i love it
I'm surprised the stans haven't hopped to dat nigga defence all homo like and shit... Dey comin tho... I hearz em
Yo... the album is tight... regardless... Wayne spit some real shit on there... I do agree with alot of this review tho... He should have came alot harder he had all the time in the world... but he did loose about 5 CDS worth of quality music so I can understand he was just burnt out... LA LA is a disaster... and leaving off tracks like Eat You ALive ft. Luda and Part Control feat. Tim, Nelly F., and JT was just a plain mistake... and the album coulda used the kick from the beat of Gotta Stunt but he wasnt smart enough to put that on either... so yea, i guess better luck next time... still a great album but not what i had been anticipating for sooo long
It's a solid album. 3 1/2 mics. 7/10. B- material. I can dig where Lil wayne comes from, but this album is not going to stand the test of time. In a few years I could pop in some Hov and still bump it, Nas, Outkast. They've dropped CLASSICS. This CD isn't it, but FINALLY I'm willing to hear him out in teh future.
Lupe's Food and Liquor was leaked just as bad as this album was. Not to mention that he made 4 crack ass mixtapes. What did he do? he kept the songs, rewrote them, and released the album a few months later, and it was remarkable.
Scrillstar just summed it up... still a great album but not what i had been anticipating for sooo long
Anticipate Nigger, Lupend, Outkast (solo's and joint) Detox, and Em. That's some real shit.
I agree
i agree also
itz a very solid ablum itz not a clazzic but wayne brung sumthin different 2 diz album so i gave him credit on diz itz not az hard az C1 and C2 but wanye can make a good album. he aint da best rapper alive but he'z a very good rapper
thankyou. What is wrong wit someone being a good rapper and make good music... its like if hes not the best u guys want nothin to do with him... WTF!
