Album: The Solution
Beanie Sigel's 4th studio release. Set to be released December 11, 2007
In a recent interview with Baller Status, rapper Beanie Sigel had one simple message to get across, without much aggression or even the slightest look of worry, he calmly stated " Stop acting like im dead". If you've ever heard Sigel rap you can understand why he would say something like this, and now with his fourth album "The Solution" set to be released on the 11th of December, Sigel is back to remind people why they should never forget his name when they talk speak of the elite artist in the industry.
Lyrics 9 - Lyrics are one thing, punchlines are another, but when you combine strong punchlines with great, lyrics, and a fierce delivery the effects can be a musical experience that hip hop heads will cherish years after an artist career has come and gone. On "The Solution" Sigel, dosent just have above average lyrics, he takes the listener through a vortex of tough talk, slick rhymes, and gritty comments, formated to assault the eardrums and stimulate the mind. A perfect example of the effects a listener might receive from this lyrical battery is the track " Go Low" feat Rock City. In this track he verbally molests every rapper in the industry with lyrical insults aimed directly at their manhood, with lines like " You nigga's dont want it with fat boy/You rather get your hair permed and pulled hit with a strap on". With lines like that it is clear that Sigel did not come to play around with the competition.
Production 7 - There is absolutely nothing wrong with the production, it is actually very balanced, will their be beats that absolutely blow a listener away, no but for the most part the beat selection was more than decent The production fits the mood of every song and helps to drive the emotional state of the listener as they, receive a better understanding of why Sigel is the solution. The beat for "Judgment Day" Feat Ozzy Osborne, may throw some fans off but it shows Sigel's attempt to try something different.
Songs 8 - In today's industry it seems that most artist struggle with the content on their songs, its either their to hood, to conscious, to party party, or in some cases they just cant make a song at all. You listen to their cds and at the end of it you still wonder what the point of the album was. No such feelings will linger when your musical experience with "The Solution" is over. The title of the album fits the point and purpose. Sigel proves that he is the solution, whether he is speaking on rappers who flaunt what they really dont have "Gutted" feat Jay-Z, is digging in deep and speaking from the heart in "rain" and "pray" or just trying to make a track for the ladies. This album is the complete experience. "Dear Self" Feat James Blunt, is possibly the best song on this album and possibly one of the best songs that Sigel has ever made. In this track Sigel argues with his self, attempting to reach out to the bad side of him, telling him to change his ways before its to late. Sigel's bad side lashes back by stating that the good Sigel has been there the entire time, and has never said anything before so he has no right to preach now. This song is the true depiction of the inner struggles that all of us go through, and with a soulful beat emotion drips off of every bar spit on this track.
Conclusion 8.5 -
Who would I be fooling If this album was given a perfect ten. As much as fans will get the urge to call this a classic, that title can never be given to this album release. A true classic album is one that is perfect in every way possible, and as each rating category show's this album has a way's to go. What can be said about this album is that it is raw, real truthful, emotional, and a true declaration of independence from the average. This album is far from average, and two steps ahead of above average, it lies within its own league. Sigel came into this album looking to give people something they had been missing for a long time, not to many of us know the feeling of being able to listen to an album from begining to end without having that eery feeling of skip creep up on us. This album does what many albums have failed to do, it eliminates the skip factor, and gives you what you wanted all along. You wont have to question whether or not hip hop will ever come back to its golden age, because with this album in your hands you will already have the solution.

I heard the Solution, I would personally give it a 9/10, best album of the year. Graduation can’t fuck with “The Solution” my man. Kanye dropped a very good/great album but the Solution is damn near classic (better lyrics, better flow, better songs, only thing Graduation has on Solution is production).
It’s safe to say that the ROC is back. Kanye, Jay, Free and now Beans all dropped bangers!!!
Peace.
honestly…..there is no way, its impossible that sigel’s album is 1.5 pts higher then wu-tangs, LET ALONE HIGHER AT ALL….NO, Just NOOOO….defsounds must be smokin that crack…
SIGEL IS BACK BIATCH!
-that shit looks really bad for the website and hiphop
when you put out poor writing like this. No offence
just being straight (the grammer was gradeschool)
I have ot analyze it again tonight before I give my final score on it…but 8.5 thus far is definitely making sense!

I’m satisfied with it….. I can’t give Ghost’s album album of the year title… Not with Beans and surprisingly: STYLES P… crazy 4th quarter.
8.5 is fine with me!
