Lil' Scrappy

Biography

Richardson was discovered by producer and performer Lil' Jon while performing at a bar, when a fight broke out during his set in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Along with labelmates Trillville, Lil' Scrappy was one of the first signings to Lil' Jon's BME Recordings.

Lil' Scrappy built a strong reputation and eager following throughout the Southeastern United States through mixtapes and his 2003 song "Head Bussa," which was used as the theme for the 2004 Atlanta Braves. During this time, Lil' Jon inked a deal to bring his BME Recordings to Warner Bros. Records as a joint venture partnership.

Lil' Scrappy and Trillville

Lil' Scrappy released a dual EP with labelmates Trillville entitled The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Lil' Scrappy and Trillville in February 2004. The album featured production by Lil' Jon. Lil' Scrappy and Trillville had ten tracks each appear on this album. It was Lil' Scrappy's first credited album but his first official album is soon followed.

Lil' Scrappy's second single and second most commercially successful single to date, "No Problem", reached the top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved the top 10 on the R&B and rap charts. Thanks to the success of "No Problem" and Trillville's hits "Some Cut" and "Neva Eva," the joint album reached #3 on the r&b chart and #12 on the Billboard 200 in 2004. It was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Lil' Jon invited Lil' Scrappy to participate on the track "What U Gonna Do" appearing on Lil' Jon's 2004 album Crunk Juice. "What U Gon' Do" was released as a single reaching #20 in the US in late December 2004 and reaching #30 in the UK in February 2005.

Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live

Lil' Scrappy recently released an album "Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live" which was released on December 5, 2006 on BME Recordings/Reprise Records/G-Unit Records. The album features appearances by Yung Joc, Three 6 Mafia, Lil Jon, Eminem, Young Buck, 50 Cent, Kandi Girl, Young Dro, and Bohagon. It was executive produced by Lil Jon and 50 Cent. The first single Money in the Bank featured Young Buck and became his second top 30 single. Money in the Bank has currently peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart trajectory, becoming his biggest solo hit and most commercially successful single to date in the U.S. as it has surpassed the peak position of "No Problem" by one position. The second single has been released called Gangsta, Gangsta featuring Lil Jon. "Oh Yeah (Work)" is confirmed as the third single from Lil Scrappy's debut album Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live. It features E-40 & Sean Paul of Youngbloodz. J-Bo, Lil Jon, & Too Short made cameo appearances in the video. It is produced by Lil Jon and it has been recently played on some urban radio stations. The video premiered as a New Joint on 106 & Park Live, on 1/25/07.
