There's an explanation for everything in this world, so on April 15th when doctors at Mayo Clinic Hospital were treating a man named Troy Jones for pneumonia, and fount out it was really DMX, they knew this must of happened for a good reason right?....right.
According to court documents, X, whose real name is Earl Simmons was trying to dodge a hospital bill. The rapper checked into Mayo's emergency room, complaining of shortness of breath and chest pains, the documents said.
The doctors diagnosed their patient with pneumonia and released him eight hours later.
X then alledgedly said to one of his visitors that, “Someone in the projects is going to get the bill,”. On May 9th, a search warrant was served to the hospital by the Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies. The search warrant said that X gave the hospital false information which could land him the charge of "theft of services".
According to court records X admitted himself into the hospital with a fake name, but used his own birthdate. When a source asked about a room with X in there, the hospital told them that they had no one by the name of Earl Simmons.
According to the same source, X later told them that he checked into the hospital as Troy Jones to avoid having to pay the bill.
Although it is not clear whether DMX is having financial troubles, the writing may already be on the wall.
He and his wife Tashera, were sued in Maricopa County Superior court last year by American Express Travel for $64,866. So far he and his wife have paid some of the bill but with all of the other fees they still owe $83,353 as of April 23.
American Express had no comments on the ongoing case, and X has yet to be charged for the "theft of services".
