Uriel Rincon, who was with Mizell on the night of the shooting, spoke publicly for the first time regarding the legendary DJ's death.
According to The New York Daily News, Rincon and Mizell were sitting on a couch in the studio playing video games, Rincon says Mizell placed a gun he had been carrying on the arm of the couch before the two masked assailants entered the studio.
Rincon, who was shot in the left leg tells The New York Daily News that Mizell was shot as he [Rincon] reached behind the couch looking for his cellphone. When he turned around, Mizell was on the floor with a gunshot wound to his head and he saw a man with a dark sweater running out of the studio.

“Had there been immediate animosity or if there was a problem, they wouldn't have been that close," Rincon said.
“His gun was right there, he would've been blazing.”
“The fact that he had his gun right there and putting everything together it kind of makes sense,” Rincon continued.
“Obviously, something was up. That person had all the chance to take everybody's life. It was extremely personal. It had to be somebody he knew.”
