Starting on August 13th, hopefuls will be able to upload their videos at BiggieCasting.com for a chance to play the rap legend.
The winner will be chosen by producers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts (Wallace’s former managers) and his mother, Voletta Wallace.
“There will only be one Christopher Wallace, but I’m happy that his legacy will open a door for another to walk through,” Mrs. Wallace said in a statement. “I don’t want you to just imitate him. I want to see his swagger, his style, his energy and smile come through.”
According to the Associated Press, Notorious will be directed by George Tillman (Soul Food, Men of Honor), while the script was authored by Reggie Rock Bythewood and Cheo Hodari Coker, who wrote the biography “Unbelievable: The Life, Death, and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.”
Production is slated to begin in the fall.
