The teen Hip-Pop phenomenon certainly had everyone 'cranking' that a while ago but now most people are giving him a rather perplex look with his latest comments.
The "Crank Dat" star, who's up for a Grammy, said he believes he's the number 1 hottest rapper out right now. If MTV did another list of hottest MCs right now, he had this to say. "I think if y'all did it right now, yeah, I deserve to be on there."
When Weezy's, Ye's and Jigga's name were thrown out there as to who's hotter he candidly replied "Right now, yes [I'm hotter than them]." "Today, January — whatever the date this is — 2008, yes [I am the hottest]."
Soulja Boy, who broke a digital-download records earlier this year by selling over 3 million, also considers himself a pioneer of sorts.
"They'll say I opened up a lot of doors for people. The first person who started this, what we call hip-hop, opened the door for me. It probably wasn't a party track or a 'Crank That,' it probably was something way, way, way different than what I'm talking about, but he still opened the door for what I'm doing, and if I never would have did this, [the next] wouldn't come."
