Originally Snoop (real name Calvin Broadus) was to attend the upcoming MTV Australian Video Music Awards, but Andrews has prohibited this, saying: “The reality is in relation to this man, that he was given a warning the last time, he has a whole string of convictions, and, just two weeks ago I was told he was convicted on a number of charges again and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on two, and three years’ imprisonment on another, with five years’ probation and a suspended sentence,” Andrews told Australian radio. “He has been denied entry into the United Kingdom because he was caught with others causing affray at Heathrow Airport. He doesn’t seem the sort of bloke we want in this country,” he added.
Even though many of Snoops fans are in a semi uproar about Andrews’ decision, a spokesperson for him said that he [Snoop] was warned in his previous visit, wherein he overstayed his Visa by two days. The Department of Immigration also states they had given previous notice, saying “they were concerned about his previous convictions, and, if he was convicted of anything else, it would be taken very seriously”.
They apparently were not making an idle threat.
