WTF is Slim Thug talking bout?? “Already Platinum” is close to platinum in real life. It debuted at #1 on the rap charts and #2 overall. That’s not mis-handling bra. It’s not Interscope’s fault that you’re not hot anymore. He needs to get on his grind and stop bitching.

Also Houston was poppin in 05’ and 06’ but they ain’t doing shit now (no disrespect but it’s true). Every region has it’s day. Shit happens. No body from Houston that was hot in 05’ is poppin now. Ex: Paul Wall, Cham, Mike Jones…..all flopped after like 1 or 2 albums.

I agree gethip quality albums dnt get the respect or succes they deserve. Trae first major release on rapalot was called restless n it was definetly a quality album(in my eyes a classic) but the sales didn’t show just how serious the album was. That’s just an example but this shit happens all the time. Back n day hot music would create its own buzz n ppl would make sho they got it!

Slim Thug is one of my favorite rappers from the South, I got all of his albums, from Underground Hoggin to Serve and Collect by Boss Hogg Outlawz (Chopped and Screwed of course), but since I been on Thugga, he always had a sound that set him apart from other Houston artists, but when he signed with Star Trak, I was like nooooooooooo, that was not a good look, because he wanted to work with Pharell and Chad, and they had not even focused on the Clipse, let alone a new act, and to me his album was not properly promoted, because Interscope does not promote their southern acts properly because of the strength of their roster, now they are pushing Soulja Boy, but that is aside from the fact, that situation with Slim and Star Trak, was the typical sound good turn out bad situation that rap is going through, like Busta Rhymes signing with Shady, sounded good, turned out bad, but Thug did go gold, and that was good, because that album got pushed back so much, and bootlegged out the ass, but to me, they took him out of his element, and he knew it, he knew he was trying something new, but deep down he didn’t like it, and that is why he left, he had to take a back seat and let them drive when he been driving his whole career, so he left, I feel him though, and that is a good look going to Koch, I would have tried to go over to Universal for the Boss Hogg album, but I guess the numbers were right, good look tho Slim bout time you left em,

Slim Thug i liked the most out of all that houston stuff that blew back in 05’. He was the only one i thought had a very well put together album. Man i just hope detox comes and shut shit down because if not, i wanna see how interscope handles that…….

I kinda stopped really fuckin with Cham after he stopped cussing, but I still bang Slim Thug. The Boss Hogg Outlaws album they dropped last year was hot & I really been waiting for him to drop.

I think his album should do better than the rest of the H-town niggas, & the fact that he’s now going indie should make a little lower selling less dissapointed, bcuz he knows he’s putting out what he wanted to, & what his fans wanted.

I really didn’t hear about Slim Thug until he was on Mike Jones single, after while i started lik’n his flow, but once i heard it album i was like, naw this can’’t be the same dude. Interscope commercialize his album which was not good for him. Made it seems like he went Hollywood, even he said it himself the fans knew his style and what he can bring.

Alot of cats up here are actin’ like this is a good move for thugga. Well, it ain’t. Neptunes production ain’t cheap, and now those two tracks he’s takin’ bout are gonna hit for more than the rest of his album. I thought that his album was THE best out of all of the albums that came out during the Texas uprising, to include, Cham’s, Bun’s, Mike’s, Paul’s, Trae’s, Hawk’s, Flip’s, and Z-ro’s. Only cat whose album may have been better was Face’s. Now his shit won’t stand out from the pack as much because he won’t have one of the most talented production teams in the game on his team. Remember “Already Platinum,”I ain’t heard of that," “Like a boss,” “3 Kings,” and “The Interview?” That album took thugga beyond just a Texas sound and had him bring Texas to the rest of us on top of tracks that went beyond regional. Now, his ish wil prolly just sound like everything else from the region. I like thugga, but I can’t see him growing musically by leaving the good music behind.
