50 still misses his son, and if its up to his ex, he may also be missing 50 million dollars as well. According to Ms. Tompkins lawyer, Paul Catsandonis; 50's now famous baby mother is suing the rapper for $50 million dollars in damages resulting from the fire that destroyed the home that she and her son were living in.
For those who don't know, the fire that Ms. Tompkins is speaking of is the suspicious fire that destroyed 50's Long Island home, where 50 had been trying to have Tompkins and his son evicted. Tompkins has been on the record as saying 50 promised her a house when they where together.
Since then the former couple have gone back and forth through the media and the courts, filing lawsuits, and restraining orders against each other.
According to Catsandonis “There wasn’t a written contract but an expressed oral agreement, which is recognized in the New York courts. They decided years ago that she was going to be the domestic partner, and she was going to provide the domestic services while he devoted all his time to becoming a Hip-Hop artist. Whatever profits he was able to achieve would be divided equally, and he had promised her and their son that they could live in the house. He breached that contract.”
Catsandonis will try to show that 50 and Tompkins relationship should be viewed as a common law marriage.
“We are moving into the modern era where people are not getting married anymore but are common law husband and wife."
The NY State Supreme court will have a hearing for the insurance money from the house on July 15, and on the 17 of July Tompkins and 50 will meet once again in the Suffolk County Family Court to argue over 50's visiting rights.

i dont know about new york but in my state if you are a man and you have lived with your girl for 7 years you are married in the eyes of the court.. i didnt even think about this… if she can prove that she was married by common law to 50 cent she is gonna get a huge chunk of his money…

What I don’t understand is how people don’t understand the phrase “standard of living”. If after the first 6 years of us being broke together, you finally come into some money and we live large for the next 4 years before we divorce, you’ve got to realize a higher standard of living has been set. At this point, I agree with the wife getting alimony and child support (of course if a child exists) based on the husband’s income at the moment they divorce because she was with him BEFORE AND AFTER the money. What I don’t agree with is the ex-wife being able to take the husband back to court a few years later for an increase in alimony because he’s now making more money. BUT, if she takes him back to court for an increase in child support, I’d agree with that. What real man wouldn’t want to make sure his child has it all? Alimony for legally married wives (none of that common law shit) and child support for ex-wives & baby mothers.
We can end this common law shit real easily, you live in your house & I will live in mine until we actually get married because I’m not playing house with you. No worries for common law problems. This baby mama crap could also be avoided if men would be more careful/selective. Be careful with who you have sex with because you might end up with the wrong chick which would be YOUR fault because you didn’t take the time to find out who she was first.
Her attorney is greedy to try to sue 50 for $50 mil for the house burning down. The only way they are going to win that lawsuit is if they can prove he burned it down just to get her out of the house. I seriously doubt that’s going to happen. The reason they are suing for $50 mil is because they know, if they win (which again, I do not believe is going to happen), the judgment is going to be a lot lower.
Everything I said goes for women too….we also need to be careful who we lay with and can also be sued for alimony/child support.
