Prodigy, who has already been convicted on two prior gun cases, faces up to 15 years in prison if found guilty on the new gun possesion charges.
According to the New York Post, two plainclothes anti-crime cops testified yesterday (October 4th) that they pulled over the heavily armored SUV at 2 a.m. last October after watching it make a U-turn and begin heading the wrong way on Ninth Avenue at West 31st Street.
Both cops told jurors they then saw Prodigy’s hand either on or near the open console door which, according to procedures, gave them the right to search the SUV.
While the gun possession charges against The Alchemist, who was in the passengers seat, have since been dismissed—the defense case is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 9th.
Prodigy claims he had no idea the unlicensed, fully loaded gun was in a console compartment between the driver’s seat, where he sat, and the front passenger seat, where Alchemist was sitting.
