Lead suspect Robert Washington will be reportedly be convicted in Jam Master Jay’s homicide case. Thanks to witness testimonies of his confession, Washington will also be charged for the murder of Tupac affiliate, Randy “Stretch” Walker.
“They want to blame me for all the blood in rap,” Washington said in an exclusive interview from a Brooklyn prison. “They are trying to pen me up for these murders.” Washington was recently arraigned and convicted on April 5th for a string of armed robberies he committed in November of 2002. He plainly denies having anything to do with either murder. “It’s all lies. She’s telling them that I was mad at Jay because he is doing better than I am that I killed Stretch because he owed me something and I wanted it. She is making up lies because they threatened to deport her,” he said. The aforementioned witness, whose name has been withheld, was also unavailable for comment.
JMJ and Walkers’ murders are spearheading a movement to get to the core of violence within the rap industry. Washington is expected to be one of the ones targeted on a laundry list of charges against numerous rap artists for various violent acts, said law enforcement sources. “Ronald Washington is a bad, bad guy,” said one of those sources. “He is a key player in this rap industry case.”
Studio receptionist Lydia High is another viable witness to the case, and she has been under police protection since revealing to investigators that Washington held her facedown on the floor as a second unnamed man shot JMJ in the head. Washington maintains his innocence, claiming he was just in the studio because Jay wanted protection. “I’m not the nicest guy in the world,” he said. “People around here know that.”
