Rapper and Super Producer, Pharrell has been busy in the lab reworking his debut solo LP for a second release. After receiving a bland response from critics as well as lackluster sales, Pharrell decided to enlist the help of long time friend ?uestlove [questlove]to write and perform new music for the CD’s 15 tracks, while keeping Pharrell’s existing vocals intact.
“Pharrell called me at 4 a.m. like three times in a row from Japan,” ?uestlove told MTV News via e-mail. “I picked up and in his ‘sell a drowning man water’ mode, he sold me on the album: ‘I need to make this world see my vision with this record. Please help me translate it, man!’ He had me dressing and in the studio starting this record five hours later.”
The album, titled “Out Of My Mind” will feature ?uestlove along with “Pharrell and the Yessirs,” and was completed in a 15 day time period. “He was blown away. He said, ‘I didn’t think you’d pull it off.’ I always felt that under the coldness of the original album lied a treasure that needed to be somewhat polished. He was open-minded to our ideas, and I thank him for the challenge.” Said Quest about Pharells reaction to the new sounds.
Though the album has been completed, it has not been given a release date by Interscope Records (Pharell’s label).

2 of the best on anything is definitely a good look. The only downfall is...how many people actually want to go out and re-purchase the same product?

What is his music considered? Is it Hip Hop.. R&B.. Alternative... I haven't heard the first CD so the only song I remember was that song he did with Kanye.. it sounded more like 80's pop music than Hip Hop..
I like Pharrell as a producer, but as an artist he's kinda wack...I didn't like his album that much

Actually pharrell's album wasn't that bad, it had some good beats, but I think it needed some more collaborations(not sure who though?) i'd give the first version of the album somethin like a 7.8/10 but a remake could push it up to at least an '8.who knows.'
