The rapper, who was reportedly signed to a $1.5 million dollar deal, has cut all ties with the label due to creative differences.
“We almost became victims of A&R hell” said Dj Kayslay. “You can not put a sixty something year old white man on a twenty something year old black kid from Brooklyn’s project. There are gonna be things that just ain’t gonna be poppin.”
“This isnt’ a bashing, we just couldn’t see eye to eye creatively.”

To be honest, Pap was hot to me for about a month. After that I sort of lost interest. I mean after the touch it remix his buzz was as big as will ever be in his whole career. That was the perfect time to try and get an album done, some time around a three to four month period after that feature.
It's ashamed that he had to lose all his hype like this, bcuz I know you New York niggas was lookin at him as a savior for yall's music but I guess he'll just be one of those guys none of us remember a few years from now.
It also doesn't help that he's not one of the more younger artists either. (He'll be 29 in December)

What my man papoose is doin is called art/hip hop.You cannot define art by the sales or by the buzz he has.Pap has the type of flow somebody would pay to hear but it is unique enough where these big corporations dont know how to pakage it and market an artist like him because there is not enough venues that are putting this kind of music out.Kind of like why put the best champaigne out there when we can sell you the beer and make more money off the beer because it is easier to supply to the people.I think we are the only culture of all people who's music is actually being pimped and even in this controlled state we still generate great legendary music but at the cost of our creative freedom.We should be proud of papoose because he has artist integrity.Financial gain does not always equal freedom or peace of mind.Keep in mind he is an artist with much potential and purpose no matter the outcome.I cannot imagine an artist like Tupac being played on the radio even without the foul language if he were living right now.The reason is because there is a double standard for Our culture and other music.Other music has full crative right of way but our music is more boxed in meaning this is how we rap and these are the only subjects we can rap about and get airplay.To me Papoose has already won even if he didnt get the 1.5 million dollars.He has a million fans that respect him and his endeavors.He's authentic talent without all the expensive gimmickery marketing and tricks of showbiz.This is why i love hip hop
