Following the recent release of Obie Trice's song "The Giant", it looks like the Detroit MC is no longer a part of Shady/Interscope records. No word yet on WHY this purportedly happened but it would appear that it is true judging from his lyrics.
"Well, no more Shady. Guess it was meant/For me to branch off from my Caucasian friend/Nope, no more 2nd place to Eminem/Question if i was 2nd is the question to many men/No disrespect to Em, he's first/Anything after, research the verses."
Trice was scheduled to release his 3rd album later this year titled, "Bottoms Up". An unknown source stated that Trice had been "dropped off of the label for unknown reasons." It is speculated that Obie was either upset with Interscope for the way he was treated, or that he was tired of trying to overcome the shadow of his mentor Eminem.

his first two cd's were good, I'll still buy the third if it ever drops, 2nd round only had em on 1 song and it was just as good as the first, I don't beleive they'll beef they were friends at one point
Obie was probably waiting for eminem to help him out on his 3rd CD, but eminem was so busy that Obie couldn't wait anymore. But he didn't have to leave the label, and I don't see eminem kicking him off of shady or letting interscope kick him without fighting it.

First off I dont know why people always wanna place the blame on shady, 50 or dre.
It,s not the independent lable that doesnt market their artist its the major lable interscope which is why you have distribution deals.
The problem is Interscope doesnt see as much of an selling factor with obie as they do with em, 50 or dre. So his album budget isnt as big and it's harder to put out the album.
Second if you all remember an interview bizzar had a while back interscope isn't letting em drop antoher album off his lable until they get one from him which why we havent seen a shady album in a very long time. so obey probly just got tired of wating which is stupid cause now he's gona have to wait longe

I like Obie alot cuz he didn't make bitch songs... ever. He had some goofy shit, but that was the Eminem influence. He was an anchor on Shady Records. I really like both of his solo joints, and I always liked it when he jumped on D12 tracks. He really took that Ja/Shady records beef into his own hands, so I think Interscope shoulda gave him more publicity (especially w/ 2nd Round's..).
