As most of you know, this year Hip Hop and RnB producer J Dilla passed away on February 10. He was a creative genius that influenced the lives of many people in the industry and will be missed dearly. In honor of J Dilla, New Era is planning to drop a special hat to commemorate the producer/rapper. On Nov. 24th, 2006 New Era will release the J Dilla “shining” hats. There will be two hats released, each will correspond to the color of the shining album and instrumental album. The hats will be sold for $74.00 each. 74 commemorates the year that J Dilla was born. The black hat will include a copy of The Shining instrumental CD album and the crimson hat will include a copy of The Shining CD. The hats will be limited to 144, of each colorway. All proceeds from the hats will go to the J Dilla foundation www.jdilla.org.
