When Nas found out about these comments he was apparently upset by them, and during an interview, saying that Jesse Jackson's role in the black community was over, as was his space in the media spotlight.

Nas also spoke about his album leaking, and explained what seemed to be an excited reaction from him when he initially addressed the leaking of it.

It wasn't that I was just excited about the leak; I was excited about the record finally being out of my hands. It's finally out of my clutches. It's finally out in the world. You gotta embrace that. Real talk I been saying that for years myself..But I just checked out a book that put all this shit in perspective damn near 50 years ago when we first started talking integration...Check out this book called "Nigger Bible" by Robert H. DeCoy...But yea, your grandmother was on point and she understood what it was really about..The niggaz that pushed integration pushed it because they knew white folks were growing fearful of us and they needed a buffer..Those buffers were the same people fighting for integration in the first place so in a sense they got us hyped up to scare them crackaz into using them to deal with us..So, really the crackaz got played and so did we as a people...But it's a lot to it..Check out that book if you get a chance...
