All that hype for nothing.

As long as the CD delivers a lot of heat, i dont really care what the title is.

well this definitely should get the album out sooner. i for one understand the meaning behind the original album title and would have no problem askin for it in stores. then again i’m black. but that’s neither here nor there, hip hop fans come in all colors and some may not have felt comfortable askin for the album by name. it’s still gonna be a classic because the content is still the same and Nas WILL get his point across.

I personally think that the title of the album was a scapegoat 2 give it a buzz 4 the record. Nas knew that the title was gonna stir some controversy. 2 me this was the perfect marketing scheme. Now people r interested on the subject matter of his lyrics. Definitely looking forward 2 buying the album regardless of the title.

i think that he does lose a little respect for going back on his word. had he just put the album name out there and not spoken on it, it wouldn’t be a problem. but he kept coming back reporting that the album wasn’t being pushed back and that the name was staying. the album got pushed back, but he said he wasn’t changing the name, and now he’s going back on that as well.
i’m a nas fan, so i’m going to cop regardless. i just think it shows weakness on his part. he knew from the beginning that the name was going to cause controversy, so for him to say he realizes what it was going to do now is kinda ridiculous.

Most looked forward to for an album title since Ice Cube – Amerikkka’s Most Wanted, kinda disappointed that the album’s name got shelved, but as the true Nas heads know, he could have named the album anything from “I drink Pepsi” to “Oprah’s Mandingo” and we’d still want to listen. Title won’t determine whether his fans will listen, but it probably would have created more awareness to what his album contained lyrically if the Nigger title stayed.
