Nas recently spoke in detail about his new album and his feelings about the contorversy surrounding his titling of it. Nas says he album, to be titled "Nigger", will be balanced, and he emphasized that he is not singling out any one race. "It's not an attack on white people at all," he promised, regarding the record's content. "It's knowledge; it's understanding for all people. It's not an attack on any race."
He also went on to say that the album will actually have a myriad of racial slurs, not just specifically towards Blacks. "It's about the attacks that have happened to blacks, whites, all ethnicities," he continued. " 'Mick' niggers, 'guinea' niggers, 'kike' niggers. I have a song called 'You a Nigger Too.' It's all over the place. Balance is so important because there's a fun level to the [album] too. There's an attractive, sexy, aspect to it; a stylish aspect, a flashy aspect. It takes negatives and makes them good."
Nas also touched on another track entitled "Fear". "The full title of the record is 'The Fear of the Black Man's D---.' That's some shit you can get comedy [from], or you can get some seriousness from it when you talk about the barbaric castrations that happened in our past — which is very serious, nothing to laugh at."
In other news…
While Nas had originally hoped to release the album next month, rather than rush the project, he decided to take his time and rescheduled the album's drop date for February: Black History Month.

Can't lie, the concept has me excited. Good to see cats doing that, Nas always has dabbled in the conceptual(Rewind, I gave you power)and usually it turns out amazing. Now, an entire album created that way. Ill. I haven't been feelin' my one time favorite emcee on the last couple of albums(some don't agree, fuck it, it is what it is...) but this one seems to be what I've been waiting for from this dude. I wonder what will be more creative, "Nigger." or "The Cool."
