Mos Def Investigated For Larceny

Brooklyn bred MC, Mos Def is under investigation for larceny after a run-in with a fan outside the Las Vegas Hilton last week.

According to reports, Mos Def allegedly snatched the fan's camera after taking offense to the flash-happy picture taker.

The fan suffered a cut to his hand during the brief scuffle as Mos allegedly snatched and tossed the camera to his security guard who ran off with the equipment.

Witnesses claim Mos repeatedly yelled "Everybody knows I don't take pictures" during the ruckus.

Mos Def has been involved in numerous instances of what many may call "Male-Diva Syndrome." In 2004, Mos was written out of a co-hosting gig at VH1's Hip Hop Honors after skipping two rehearsals in the days before the taping and wanted to reshuffle the show's lineup to feature his own band.

In 2007, Mos Def was involved in scuffle with another photographer after the paparazzi attempted to take his shot outside a Hollywood nightspot. "I'm not trying to damage nuthin' ... I just want him to erase the photo. I'm not hurting him, I just want him to erase my photo and knock it off" Said Mos during that run in.

Dame Dash Dropped By Pro Keds

Hip Hop mogul Dame Dash has lost the licensing rights to Pro Keds as the company hopes to achieve a new image with its 60th anniversary.

Dash, who popularized the brand in 2004, was given the pink slip by the Stride Rite Corporation last week due to the company wanting to re-create the brands look and head in a new direction.

"We thank Damon for his partnership and efforts on the PRO-Keds brand over the past few years, and we look forward to re-launching the brand under the Stride Rite organization to maximize the brand’s full potential,” Stride CEO Greg Ribatt said in a statement. “We plan to tap our archives and re-issue the classic styles with fresh new design details, and to build on the brand’s vintage position with a new brand image.”

Dash is also rumored to be facing foreclosure after a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit filed by Eastern Savings Bank claims Dash has failed to make the $78,504 monthly payment on his two New York City apartments . Dash also faces over $10,000 in late fees on the $7.3 million mortgage.
