Hip Hop veterans such as The D.O.C. and Jazze Phae were amongst the many who gathered into the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, MI to say a final goodbye to their hometown pioneer.
Breed died last month after a fatal kidney failure. He gained commercial success early on in his career with his 1991 hit "Ain't No Future in Yo' Frontin" followed by a collaboration with Tupac Shakur called, "Gotta Get Mine."

Local news outlets report a crowd of over 200 family and friends. "He's important to this city because he brought the Midwest to the map," his cousin Raheem Riley told the local ABC news. "As far as the rap game, he brought it to the map."
During the service, Breed's family was presented with a key to the city, letters from Mayor Don Williamson and the City Council, and the announcement that Flint would celebrate every Dec. 2 as MC Breed Day.
