Lupe has returned to the studio, preparing the follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut “Food and Liquor”. He spoke to Sohh recently, updating his fans on plans for his new album, and details of the new group started by he, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.
“Right now I’m working on my next album, called The Cool. It comes out [on] Halloween,” said Lupe. “I’m excited to get back on the road. We had a real good road experience the past year and a half. I can’t wait to get back out there.”
In regards to the new “supergroup” that has Hip-Hop buzzing, Lupe explained the motivation behind it, offering: “It’s a little project that me, Kanye, and Skateboard P sat down and was like, ‘Yo let’s do a group.’ ‘Us Placers,’ was the first record we came out with. Now we sitting down deciding if we really going to go hard or not, but we working on some surprises.”
“It depends what it sounds like,” added Lupe. “We gotta make some more records. Everybody is mad busy, Kanye is doing his record, Pharrell’s in the studio, I’m working on my record, so we gonna wait til everything settles down some.”

Nas was one of the orignal lyricist's of my generation growing up, but I didn't really appreciate his lyrical ability until after I turned 20 and started appreciating not only Hip-Hop, but music moreso... This is because I love Jay-Z and he will always be my favorite... Lupe is something more than an artist though... Like he said in "Dear Fall", "I went from MC to being MS, that's Microphone Controller to Motivational Speaker"... He spits poetry and its difficult for the simple minded to understand that... Lupe has 3 levels listening one must undergo to completely understand him...
