The above verse, taken from LL Cool J’s recently released song “Queens” has been speculated to be a shot at Def Jam’s new head honcho, Jay-Z. He recently spoke with Miss Info, however, and attempted to clear up his true intentions for the verse:
“No, Im going at Def Jam.” “I didn’t tell him to take the job, he[Jay-Z] is just the President of the label” ” said LL. “I was talking about the label, they need to promote my records more.
When asked about what he felt the impact of his statements were he offered: “I’ve stopped communicating ” “I’m just telling the truth, I stand on the truth.”
He ended the chat on a firm note, explaining “One thing Im not gonna allow to happen is to let people goad this to be bigger than it is, I’m just gonna ask people[Def Jam] to do their JOB”
