LL Cool J Dumps 50 Cent
Queens bred rapper LL Cool J has decided to scrap fellow Q-Boro rapper 50 Cent from his 13th and last album with Def Jam records.
The album, which was originally titled "Todd Smith Pt. 2: Back To Cool," was being executive produced by the Hip Hop power player who was also rumored to be featured on numerous tracks. LL even mentioned 50's feature and influence on numerous interviews.
The rapper turned actor seems to have had a change of heart and decided to scrap Fif from the album leaving only his hook on "Feel My Heart Beat."
"I'm not releasing the album he and I were working on. I took a few songs for (new album) 'Exit 13' and scrapped the rest," says LL.
"That's due to the fact that I don't think people want to hear me rhyming like 50," he explains.
Exit 13 hit stores yesterday, Tuesday, September 9th.
Common Dumps Invincible Summer
In other album news, Chicago MC, Common, has changed the name of his 8th solo LP from Invincible Summer to Universal Mind Control.
The name change came after the rescheduling of the album's release date from June 24th to September 22nd, 2008.
Though the album will be released in the fall, Common says he created the techno-inspired music for the summer time.
"I created this music for the summer time, it's about feeling good... this is the type of music I felt was missing from my body of work" he tells Billboard Magazine.
The LP was produced by in its entirety by Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes.

without 50 hip hop wnt be tha same
50 was here wayyy before game 50 was here in 2000 and dropped his very first track “your lifes on the line” in 1998 (it was pose to be on power of the dollar)
