Lollipop rapper Lil Wayne appeared in an Arizona courtroom this past Tuesday (May 6) to answer to drug charges he received in January.
Lil Wayne Who's real name is Dwayne Carter entered a not guilty plea for several drug charges, as well as a charge of misconduct involving a weapons charge.
The arrest stems back from a search that officers did on the self proclaimed "rapper eater's"tour bus in late January during a routine stop at a Border Patrol Checkpoint not to far from Yuma, Arizona.
It was during this search that the DEA found numerous drugs including over 50 grams of Marijuana, 29 grams of Cocaine, and 41 grams of ecstacy. Along with the drugs there was also a 40 caliber pistol discovered which was registered to Wayne.
Wayne posted for bail the very next day at $10,000 bond and is currently free until further notice.
He is scheduled to appear in court on May 19.
Despite his legal troubles it looks likeWeezt will be teaming up with R&B singer Keyshia Cole for a tour to support "The Carter III" when it is released.
According to MTV.com Wayne origionally had intentions of getting 50 Cent and G-unit to hit the road with them, but that plan eventually fizzled out.
In an interview with MTV Wayne spoke on why he would be touring with Keyshia instead of the unit, saying; " Um, that one, I don’t think is gonna work no more. It was something that ain’t went right. I think I might go out with Keyshia Cole. You’re bringing two different types of people in there. You got people coming to soothe their souls with Keyshia, and you got people who wanna throw their hands up with me."
Cole and Wayne are no strangers to each other they stage and the spotlight during BET's "Spring Bling" earlier this year. When asked about the two of them on the same bill Cole was very excited, while speaking with MTV she had this to say about touring with Weezy. “I’ma kidnap him and take him on tour with me, I think it’s a little harder to get him on the stage than it is to get me. We gotta make sure we get together on that."

All I know is, Lil Wayne got a lot of pressure on him to deliver a classic b/c of all the hype behind C3. If C3 is a bust Lil Wayne could be one of the most underachieving rappers of all time, all hype and no classics. He talks a big game but can’t deliver. Anyway that’s just my speculation, C3 might be a classic who knows (it has to be for Wayne’s sake)……
