The charges stem from a July, 2007, incident in which Weezy, along with fellow rapper Ja Rule, was arrested after a performance at New York's Beacon Theater.
Police say officers saw Wayne and another man smoking marijuana, after a brief search, officers found Wayne was carrying a .40-caliber pistol.
Wayne is facing two felony charges of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. Hey may face up to three and a half years if convicted due to New York's strict gun laws.
In related news, fans of the eccentric rapper waiting to see if he'll ever respond to New York rapper 50 Cent's jabs can forget about it.
In a recent interview with MTV News, Weezy says he'll never go back at 50 because of his status.
