Lil Wayne Ordered To Turn Over Carter III Financial Records
by on March 19th, 2009
The legal battle over "I feel like dying," continues. Cash Money Records and Lil Wayne have now been ordered to hand over financial records for his latest album to a folk singer who has accused him of copyright infringement.
According to the Associated Press, on Wednesday, U.S. Magistrate Daniel Knowles III ordered the New Orleans rapper to hand over records about the sale of 2008's "Tha Carter III."
The lawsuit stems over allegations by South African born singer named Karma-Ann Swanepoel, who claims Cash Money did not have the clearance to sample her track "Once" on Wayne's "I Feel Like Dying."
In the suit, Swanepoel states that she had been approached by the rapper's label to sign a deal for the right to use her song. However, the track had already started getting massive airplay and Weezy had already been performing it live during his concerts.
Swanepoel is seeking a cash compensation of an undisclosed amount.

Depending How Much She Want She Deserve At Least Some Compensation
well wat can i say like ya saying money talks
It’s a smack in the face when u do something…only to have someone else get the credit for it.
Then to see him on TV constantly…hear him on the radio constantly…braggin’ about what he has and how many units C3 moved…yet have them tell u they have no money to pay you for something they stole from you…well it’s just frustrating.
~Be Eazy!
and after wayne had performed it live….
therefore after he had made profit from it….
so she is clearly entitled to whatever she wants for it
its her song for christ sake…
If It Wasn’t They Would Have To Pay Performance Royalties As Shown In The US Copyrights
i’ve just trashed u
( don’t take it personal )
P.S. Who thinks Deeper Than Rap (Rosses album not Yayo’s mixtape) will be a free download on ThisIs50.com?
but it was going to be on it until it got leaked and he put alll those songs on a free mixtape called the leak
and i dont think deeper than rap is going to be on thisis50.com because game cd L.a.x was only on there cause 50 still had rights to it
it was released under 50 label
i just wanna say fuck you very much
props to my nigga doo-flinky
2nd, what judge in his right mind would sign such a ridiculous waiver
3rd, that unknown bitch didn’t have a name until Wayne used her voice, if anything she should thank him 4 puttin her voice out there
We Comin For You Weezy!!
Sorry But A N*gga Gotta Meet His Quota Ya Dig.
TRILLLLLLA!!
Obviously he was introduced with a beat he thought was hot wit a sample and ripped it, and then when he found out it was stolen it was on him to stop performing it but it was already out there, it ain’t like he performed tha song after she was being sued, but I agree she should be compensated for having her track used. But bottom line is stop acting like this ish don’t happen all tha time, producers get they hands on everything and they always sending emails and ish to Wayne, slap on him for not doing background checks on what he’s being givin but stop making it seem like he went into her crib and stole her ish like Tommy Davidson on Martin, shout out to tha Martin Show cuz that episode was hilarious…but for real keep your personal feelings out of it cuz it read off tha computer like a petty girl would act; again I agree she deserve money but their are other factors that none of us know about so if you ain’t tha prosecutor why make such strong claims is all I’m saying
2 fingers
& the carter 3 shouldn’t have anything to do with this!
