KRS One Loses Son
The son of hip-hop legend KRS-One, Randy Hubbard Parker, 23, was found dead in his apartment in an apparent suicide, authorities said Tuesday.Simone Parker, KRS-One’s wife and Randy’s mother, said Tuesday (July 10) in a statement that her son’s death was related to “severe depression.” The family is planning a private memorial service in Florida on July 18, which would have been Randy’s 24th birthday. Plans for an August memorial service in New York are under way.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said Parker died on Friday from a gunshot wound to the head, and listed the cause of death as suicide.
KRS-One was on tour overseas with producer Marley Marl and was not available for comment at press time, but the statement conveyed his and Simone Parker’s appreciation to everyone who has offered condolences.
Sticky Fingaz Loses Brother

While the cause of death has not been confirmed at press time, sources said the rapper committed suicide.
X-1, was originally in a Hip Hop group named Gangreen. Hailing from southside Jamaica, Queens, X1 recorded with Onyx consistently and has been featured on each Onyx album since the group’s 1998 release Shut ‘Em Down.
He also recorded a song and video with 50 Cent titled “React” in the early stages of both of their rap career in the mid 1990’s.
The rapper released his debut solo album, Young, Rich & Gangsta, last year. At the time he shared that he was proud of all the other rappers from his Queens neighborhood but he wanted to make his own mark.
The rapper said: “Yeah I feel everything, what everybody doing from Southside, from Queens period, you know what I’m sayin’? I’m just trying to add what I got to it, you know what I’m sayin’? I want to do my little damage too, you know what I’m sayin’?”
X-1 added: “It’s been a long time coming man you know what I’m sayin’? Like people about to know the truth though. A lot of people tried to hold me back but it’s a wrap now ’cause I’m in. They done let me in the door so it’s on and poppin’.”
The rapper was signed to Mike Tyson’s defunct Tyson Records in 2000, but his most recent deal was with Ball ‘R Records, which is based in Las Vegas. X1’s last solo album Young, Rich & Gangsta hit stores in 2006.
