According to reports, Chicago MC Kanye West might be starring in Spike Lee's "School Daze II"--the sequel to his critically acclaimed, 1988's School Daze.

Spike Lee has finished writing the script and is hoping to cast Kanye West and Alicia Keys in the lead roles. The only problem is no one wants to buy his script.

The original film focuses on a not so popular young man who wants to pledge to a popular fraternity at his historically black college.

The sequel focuses on the same college, twenty five years later.

Luda's House Burns To The Ground

In other news, authorities say a fire destroyed a pool house at rapper Ludacris' home outside Atlanta. No one was hurt however as Luda was out of town at the time of the Wednesday night blaze.

The fire was put out within 30 minutes but destroyed the pool house, which is reportedly larger than most homes.

Luda is currently putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming LP, Theater Of The Mind, due out November 11th. He will also be appearing in the forthcoming Max Payne flick hitting theaters on October 17th.

i think i might love Spike Lee movies a little more than the average man, but i’m not sure how this movie would come out???? i went to a black school (NC A&T) and any movie trying to depict things accurately about black college nowadays is either gonna catch a lot of flack (too much drugs, drinking, and all around niggerness) or not be and accurate portrait of what it’s really like. not sure how this one is gonna look (especially with Kanye in the lead). He was the “college drop out” maybe they should drop him out of this cast.

Lil’ late here. That School Daze project isn’t looking to good. No funding available for it. If it was any othe rdirector but Spike, who often recieves the blackball treatment, there would be a better chance of it happening. Hov has some paper, maybe Big Brother can help out. Well, I think that School Daze II sounds like a good concept, but to actually see it in action w/ Kanye and Alicia Keys is questionable.
