Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Jay-Z have recieved nominations at this years American Music Awards. The show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel this year, has Wayne at the front with 3 nominations: "Artists of the Year," "Favorite Male Artist-Rap/Hip-Hop," and "Favorite Album-Rap/Hip-Hop" for "Tha Carter III."
The 'Favorite Album-Rap/Hip-Hop' category is yielding some tough competition as Jay-Z's American Gangster, Kanye's Graduation and Wayne's Tha Carter III will all be going head to head.

@'Matic....... I know, I ask myself the same thing. Those albums were hot, but not commercial enough for the AMA's. Especially "Untitled". The big wigs would hate to see a album with meaning win anything. Especially when they didn't even want it to come out.

Jay got nominated...... well because he's Jay-Z. He has that crossover appeal. But Nas keeps it hood (Not saying they all don't to some extent) and drops meaningful, thought out joints.
