According to Billboard News, Kanye West won the U.K. battle in the worldwide war of the rap superstars as “Graduation” (Def Jam) entered at No. 1 on the album chart ahead of 50 Cent’s “Curtis” (Interscope).
According to industry estimates, West is predicted to have moved over 800,000 units during the first week of release while 50’s “Curtis” is said to have sold 600,000 copies.
“Graduation” would be the first album to sell over 800,000 copies in its opening week since Kanye West’s “Late Registration” album in the last quarter of 2005.
