Who favorited?Kanye Creates New Genre, 808's & Heartbreak A Double Disc?

As if being a trend setter wasn't enough, Chicago MC Kanye West has now coined his own genre of music. In a recent interview during a press day for 808's & Heartbreak, Kanye says that his latest sound is no longer Hip Hop--it's "Pop Art."
"Pop is such a clear lane and stuff for people to kinda do like bullshit music and it'll still work. So what happens if you take a person that is like super credible in the Hip Hop world--it's like I conquered this world now I'm coming into the lane where it's like just bullshit being made and be like "Nah, ok such and such--you gotta compete with THIS, and THIS has like seventy-two bars of real life lyrics from MY life that I wrote" said Kanye.
"Now compete with that, and I'm gonna perform it and people'll believe what I'm saying because they know my story. So I created a new genre of music and Itunes can chose to use it or not but this is called "Pop Art"--and that's what I want it to say in Itunes.."Pop Art" he continued.

In related news, early rumors of 808's & Heartbreak hitting stores as a double LP have now been fueled even more by online retailer Amazon.com.
Amazon.com has now listed 808's & Heartbreak as a 2 Disc set. Many fans have speculated that one disc will contain nothing but auto-tuned "pop art," while the other will bring back the familiar Kanye sound from his previous LPs.
808's & Heartbreak will be hitting stores on November 25, 2008.

It is obvious that there are few on this site that have ever dipped into others genres of music just to learn from the artist of the past. There are messages in music. Regardless if Kanye is goin through his personal thing, his choice to display it on record is his and it is our option to purchase or download. We are fortunate that his music has the platform it does so we all can discuss it. Trust me it his name wasn’t KanYe we wouldn’t be talking about it.
His music does earn the right to be labelled art… As much as he would like to call it Pop his approach and the way he is expressing himself is still Hiphop. His album is gon be fire and no doubt his message will be around for the future heads to learn from while diggin through the virtual crates.
And then its going to be a double disc. I dont think can create that much material and produce garbage. Ill definitely give it a listen.

Seriously, though, this is ASS, Period. Kayne my man, I wn’t forget his first 3 albums. Especially his classic The College Dropout, and his masterpeice Late Registration.
But this album, besides Heartless, which is only ok. Is terrible. Period. Some of the worse music I’ve ever heard in my life.
