Judge Orders Four Trials For Busta Rhymes

New York rapper Busta Rhymes rejected a plea deal today Tuesday, July 11th, 2007. The “Touch It” hit maker will now be facing four separate trials for attacking two men, driving drunk and driving with a suspended license.

According to the Associated Press, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Larry Stephen denied a motion by the prosecution Tuesday to consolidate two assault charges against Rhymes.

“The two assault cases cannot be consolidated,” said Rhymes’ lawyer, Scott Leemon. “The decision today validated Busta’s defenses to the assault cases. We detailed to the court that we have defense to these cases and the court agreed.”

The plea deal, which would require Busta be incarcerated for one year for all four cases, is the second rejected by Rhymes. Earlier this year, he was offered 6 months behind bars for the two assault cases.

“It’s the same offer” the prosecutor made at Rhymes’ last court appearance, Leemon said, “and it’s one which Busta adamantly rejects.”

Judge Stephen adjourned the cases until Sept. 5.

I dont know about yall but I'm getting a weird feeling about this one...
