Jay-Z Talks Album Production And Obama
by on July 31st, 2008
Jay-Z sat down recently for an interview with Rolling Stone magazine and spoke up his upcoming album production. Contrary to what Jay has said earlier, he may not be working with Timbaland exclusively for the new album. “You know I love Timbaland, he is like a brother to me, but until the music is done it’s premature. I’m a person that works off music. If Timbaland makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album, if Kanye West makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album; if he makes three, I’ll take three. I let the music dictate the direction,” Jay said.
In his shows as of late, the Brooklyn rapper has also been incorporating a positive message supporting Barack Obama. During these messages he has received a great deal of support from the fans in attendance.
Jay-Z went on to say, “For America, [Obama] means so much. I believe he can change the perception and relations between America and the rest of the world right now. I am that kid that grew up in [Brooklyn, New York’s] Marcy Projects and thought that no matter who was in office, we weren’t part of the political project. Because our voice didn’t count, and trickle-down politics — we were the last on the totem pole to receive any attention because we couldn’t put a candidate in office...He represents to that kid in Marcy Projects, that we really here… And as your mother says, with the right focus and the right thoughts and determination you can be anything in the world that you want to be. It’s a true statement for the first time; it’s really a special time to be here.”

Also it’s great that Obama is a black man running for Pres and that he’s CLEARLY better than Mccain. But I’m not gonna put all my faith in Obama like he’s the 2nd coming of Christ. I wanna see how he actually runs the country when he’s president. It’s a politicians job to bullshit to try and gain votes, it’s how they conduct themselves when their actually elected that’s important.
VOTE OBAMA
Props for the first half of ya comment but for the second part… I can’t give it to you.
It really doesnt matter how well Obama does…
When it comes down to it… we could have Jesus in office and it wouldn’t make much of a difference! At least not for another 8 years it wouldn’t!
Bush has fucked this economy and country up soo bad that it’ll be at least a decade before we could our finances as a nation back to a positive status. And another 10 years before we can catch back up to Japan.
Obama could make all of the right moves in office but it won’t make a difference… the effects won’t start to show until either his 2nd term or until the next person got in office…and took the credit for it of course!
More importantly…Obama has no choice but to do the right thing. The first time he even attempts to fuck up… they’re gonna put him on the spot and blame the entire race for it!
I’m supporting him 100% PERIOD. The only other candidate that was worth talking about was John Edwards… the rest of em are greedy fuck ups…PERIOD!

obvious
You came to england and shoved your swagger in noel gallachers face. True say noel does not know that his foolish speech did not phase anybody but himself “There should be no HIP-HOP at the GLASTONBURY” is he on CRACK?…lol. And his own people gave him a backlash because youM went on stage and brought on your rainman as a true artist.
Ok now that’s said, I have to bring up the political ish, listen we know Jay has a voice, but please use it well. We don’t need these Niggaz fuckin it up for all of us. Like that Luda record,…nah mean? That shit was too reckless,…now you have Obama answering for that shit. Fuck, these rappers now think they can speak politics & drop a diss record to McCain or Bush,…hell nah, fall back let Barack do the dissing man,…if he needs you to collab he’ll hit you up. I mean you can support the man, go perform at his conventions and shit, maybe speak a sentence or 2,…but no more Diss records, So JAY hope you reading this…give us a damn classic album with no Barak record I’m good

Feature wise: Nas (Can they make it 3 in a row!), Jada, Beans, Lupe Fiasco (Pressure was crazy), Kanye. Others i would like to see…but this is what would get me excited.

As for Jay..i mean the producution is important but not the main focus or shuldnt b the main focus of the album..its comes down to who is in the studio tearin’ up the Mic..and with Jay you know what he brings..
