claiming Jay as well as 40/40 club co-owner Juan Perez willfully refused to pay legal wages due.
Now, a Philadelphia based Author has filed suit against both Jay Z and Damon Dash claiming that they stole the idea for their 2002 film, “State Property,” from his novel The Family: A Philadelphia Mob Story, which he claims he had pitched to the then business partners almost four years ago.
According to reports, Antonne Jones filed the lawsuit in early May and is claiming that he was initially offered $50,000 but instead wanted $500,000 for the rights to the movie.
The movie, starring Roc-A-Fella’s Beanie Sigel, only credited writers Abdul Malik Abbott and Ernest “Tron” Anderson and grossed $2.1 Million in the box office.
Jones claims that after refusing their initial offer, he was never contacted again.
