According to MurderInc-Online, the reason for this second delay is for "sample
clearance Issues," but Ja stated in an interview to SOHH, "He'd
rather wait until the competition weans to release his disc."
"I was going to put the album out November 13 but I decided to wait," the rapper said. "The new year is fresh. It's only a couple of months
away. So, since everything is fresh and new, what I'm doing, I felt,
I'ma let it linger. Plus, [there's] a lot of traffic right now. It's
that fourth quarter traffic, you know what I mean? It's gonna be real
heavy out there so I'ma let all the heavy heavys do their thing and
@#!* and I'ma kick it off real fresh in the new year and splash. That's
how I'm feeling right now with the project."
The reason Ja was quoted for being pushed back is completely different from having a clearance issue on a sample that Universal proposed.
"MurderIncOnline can reveal that Ja Rule's highly anticipated new album The Mirror has been pushed back to 2008 with no confirmed release date," the statement reads. "We contacted Irv Gotti to ask him the reason behind this set back and he told us that they have received 'Sample clearance issues' so therefore they had to push it back. We will update you on any further developments as soon as we get word from the label.
