Jay explained how it went down in a recent interview, “[Wayne’s camp] sent the record and it was done,” said Jay. He continued, “So it wasn’t like a collaboration thing. It was done already. Gee [Roberson] and [Kyambo] ‘Hip Hop’ [Joshua], who came from Roc-A-Fella and went on to do great things — I’m very proud of them — manage Wayne. That whole thing came through them. It’s more of a great record than a lyrical slug fest. It’s more a creative, great record than two guys spitting. ‘Success’ [another American Gangster track] is more of what people wanna look at when you judge that type of[collaborative] stuff. It’s me and Nas going at it.”
Wayne co-signed Jay-Z’s statements, admitting that whatever Jay wants, he’s got it because he’s the king. “It was produced by my homeboy Big D a long time ago,” Wayne said. “Jay heard the song some type of way, and when he heard it, he said, “Ask the homie if I can get this.” When I was asked the question, I told them it wasn’t even a question—he’s got it. Everybody in the world knows how I feel about Jay. ... He’s the king, utmost respect.”
“Hello Brooklyn”, is one of the 14 tracks on the album not counting the intro, which features production by Diddy, The Neptunes, Just Blaze, DJ Toomp and Jermaine Dupri, among others.
Jay will go on a small promo tour for the album, however, he said that he plans to go on tour next year along with the entire roster of Roc-A-Fella. “We’re slowly getting our legs to make another run,” he said. “First Kanye, then my record, then Free and Beans. [Memphis] Bleek’s got a smoker out there. We’re gearing up for Tru-Life at the beginning of the year, and [to] make that Dynasty 2 [album].”
American Gangster will make history November 6.

Ok... Wayne gave this track to Jay... Wayne shows nothin but respect for Jay and you guys still gonna knock Weezy for no reason... He made that song what it is... Its not always a lyrical contest when two DIFFERENT rappers ar on a track... like they said Weezy's part was just creative and it gave the song a good vibe... if you gonna hate at least support what you say with somethin and back it up
yea i agree wit u on dat point scrill niggas jus hate on wayne 4 kno reason

I expected to hear these niggaz beast it, but it was bullshit to me. Now im hearing niggaz say dat tha album is trash. If its kingdom come again, God help us all.
go buy some hearing aids, what are you listening to the beat for??? yeah the beat is simple and its only three verses but it was a cool collabo and if you LISTEN through the whole song wayne is giving respect due to jay which is fine by me, your just a hater, the album is fire..
The whole Album is SICK one of jays best, most of tracks are out on the net, waiting for the cd to drop
pshh please hello brooklyn was some hot shit!but yeah BlacKHaZe187 on that comment... I really wish wayne would have used a better word choice such as"I agreed to collaborate because Jay is an established MC, in which I am highly influenced by and honored to work with".Its when he says shit like whatever Jay wants, he’s got it because he’s the king that makes him look slightly dumb

U heard da beats and changed the tracks... Idiots. I'm coppin' da album cuz i kno Jay brings the heat on EVERY album. AMEN AMEN AMEN PREACH MY NIGGA!!!!!! CO MOTHER_FUCKIN SIGN TRiple more den tha matha fucka above me!!!!! then multiply that by 2!!!
COSIGN...Jay always delivers, ALWAYZ. I have not heard any verse that was lame. Even his intro for albums/mixtapes (for example - Trulife's mixtape - TRUYORK), he still laid it down. Jay is just god on the mic no matter what. Even wayne confirmed it so haters choke on something!
LOCK EM UP AND THE BOOTH WIT A HALF OUNCE OF THAT CANNIBUS SIT BACK WATCH THE OUTLANDISH SHIT THEY BE SAYING LOL...I GUESS WAYNE BACK ON j DICK

dat takes the piss.....wat happened when rappers do a " 17 track album"..
u have to be the dumbest fuck on this site. listen to eric b and rakim. they only needed 10 tracks to make one of the top 10 greatest albums. so shut the fuck up and learn.
neway i heard half of this album nd its hot so far. def. coppin it legit.
Wayne Dick ryding sucking Jays Dick now talking bout he da King what ever he wants he got it... before he was talking sideways about him..
Jay owns Lil Lame. Jay-Z killed Lil Lame on that track with T.I. and yet Lil Lame is begging Jay to be on his record. Classic...LMAO! Another Southern country bammer owned!
lil wayne gets punched by jay-z for trying to kiss him goodbye?
LMAO Where da Number one Wayne dick rider at!!!!! Scoop to shocked to here his favoriite rapper say his favorite rapper is king!!!
lmao hahahaha even WAYNE KNOWS IT. SO THIS BEEF BETWEEN THE JAY AND WAYNE FANS IS OVER
I realize that there wasn't real beef between jay and wayne it was there fans that were beefin. Jay fans beef with waynes fan to clear that Jay-Z is the best rapper alive and always will be and the wayne fans went against that and wanted toc laim there favorite rapper the new king and him as the best rapper alive...well afetr this article its over
WE PREVAILE NIGGUHZ!!! and the song is hot even with wayne on it!! Hello BROOKLYN!
NAS is the best rapper alive whody, but not far behind lacks jigga... it was just nice seeing two promised and promising careers finally working out their differences and putting something together.
nas is not the best rapper alive, he may have the deepest lyrics but his flo is lacking compared 2 both jay, wayne, and even 50.. tho nas is def better than wayne and 50 as a rapper overall 2 make that clear.. jigga is the king.. but i will say as far as this year goes hip hop is dead was better than kingdom come, neither were classics
whoa u dan went 2 far sayin 50 lyrically better than nas not in this reality brotha an he is the.....BEST RAPPER ALIVE YES IM TALKIN BOUT NAS...in my opinion and many others but yo opinion is yo opinion yung fresh
i didn't say 50 had better lyrics than nas.. re read what i actually wrote than reply, u got the facts twisted
"...he may have the deepest lyrics but his flo is lacking compared 2...'
that's was the part u misconstrued and being eminem and rakim are still alive u can add both of dem 2 the list of rappers better than nas.. Nas is number 6 in my top 10 list (dead or alive)
1. 2 Pac- emotionally connected with people the most, even if lyrics could be repentive
2. Jay-Z- most radio hits, sick with metaphors and punchlines, questionably greatest flo of all time, capable of some of the deepest lyrics in hip hop.
3. Biggie Smalls- he is the ghetto, the realest nigga ever 2 be involved in hip hop, ridiculous punchlines and metaphors, man was a phene with or without a mic could freestyle with the best of em on top of dropping 2 classic albums before he died
4. Eminem- sickening punchlines and metaphors, emotionally connected with people the 2nd most after pac with both his anger and comedy
5. Ice Cube- the original gangster, when he rhymed west coast bleed through his veins and it reflected is his rhymes, one of the first hip hop entrepreneurs, sick story teller and sick with punchlines
6. Nas- the deepest lyricist in the game since rakim
7. LL Cool J- hard as any but also the true romantic in the game ladies love LL, sick punchlines, and it can't be ignored the man's been in the game for 20 years no more need 2 be said
8. Rakim- the godfather of hip hop, he evolved hip hop from Run DMC party music to deep lyrics so real when he spit it his detail was so unique and real it was as if you were standing right next to him in every situation (if he dropped albums more often he would definately rise on my list)
9. Snoop Dogg- the most unique flo in the game, sick punchlines and metaphors, and the man even created his own language
10. Andre 3000- the man has it all deep lyrics, ridiculous metaphors and punch lines, can spit it romantic for the bitches, and will forever be remembered as the Prince (as in the singer) of hip hop no matter how hard Kanye West tries to take that title
Respect given outside of top 10: Dr. Dre (sick flo, classic beats..greatest hip hop producer of all time) 50 Cent (one of the best flo's of all time, sick punch lines and metaphors, helped carry hip hop before it's recent descent thanks to wack rappers like Hurricane Chris, Soulja Boy and many others), Lil' Wayne (Yes, Wayne though I kno opinions are varied from him being the best all the way down to the worst), and many others that I don't have the time to mention right now..
WOW<<<<<< judging by your top ten alone you are PHONY, no more credibility for you from any angle you lost all respect whatsoever gtfoh clown. you got BIGGIE 3rd??? wtf???? you got hov ahead of em who is at 4???? when he murdered jay on his own track just like you claimed in one of your earlier posts<<<dickrider, you got LL in your top 10 clown, he was mad overrated, you got 3000 in your top 10 of all time you are funny, holla back
yo list is heavily conflicted but its your top so i aint mad but yea ma bad 4 the misunderstanding but u still puttin 50 on too high of a pedestal 2 me
yo Illseed, andre 3000 is one of the best around. go back and listen to his shit. he can outdo anyone on a track. not even being funny that nigga is beyond nice.
yea andre 3000 might be a weird ass nigga but he can spit
Good to see JayZ working with Lil Wayne. That's what we need more rappers working together instead of working against each other. The down south rappers even said that they don't beef with other rappers like the east coast rappers do they just make good music. Now if 50 cents can grow up and realize that not every rapper is against him and do collabos with his so call beef then east coast would and will be so strong! Imagine 50 cents and D-Block on a song or even better 50 and Nas the god son! Straight fire. Can't we all get along....
the cd sucked damn it if it sells he probly will buy them all him self
Here the album or what maybe the album first impression that snippet thesy relase is not good had me like oh no hov but real talk
Joint named "I know" wit pharell fire..next track "sweet" fire...."NO HOOK" joint LYRICAL MASSACRE..... joint named Say Hello mello out and smoke one ....."Success" you know what it is not even commenting .....So in short its not for the young folks are niggas in this new age party state of mind of who can dance best its a ride go out get it type music a.k.a get yours nukka with a lil bit of jay rich refine leaking in. Its fucking hot you can't bump it then you have no grind in you period.
oh yeah let me add fallin hot to
Thats a good look for both artists. I wouldnt be too shocked if wayne still put this on his album (maybe with his own verse) as a bonus track.
Im glad jay admitted that this isnt a track you would use to judge his talent against wayne's as an artist. Now I dont have to say it a million times to the dummies on this site.
Oh yeah, and even jay had to admit that wayne made a song that was hot and creative with this jaunt. Can the haters give it up to Wayne because he did make the concept for the song, Jay (who I've supported for years) just spit some rhymes over LIL WAYNE'S track.
lil wayne is fugayze. big ups to my nigga jay-z it looks like another classic
yall so simple minded
to the point where its funny
all he did was give the man his props
and by the way we will see whos the king
when the carter drops
hannnnnnnn
take that to the bank
see how niggas wanna fuck up a good thing.....wayne and jay finally get on a track together and motherfuckers don't want it to be like that......they want it to be a weezy vs. jay-z battle.....man fuck that shit......one of the greatest of the past generation and the greatest of the new generation....man fuck the bullshit....that's fire anyway you wanna put it.
fuck all this american gangster hype Jay z did his thing back in the day but now hes kinda fading, respect for him doing his thing in the corporate world but other than that I think its time to abandon the hip hop artist ship cuz its sinking right now. He pullin a Michael Jordan saying hes going to retire and coming back and flopping, at the end of the day hip hop is a competitive sport and as time goes by athletes loose their strength n have to call it quits I think das wut jay z should do. Jus an opinion ppl don call it hatin im jus seein things the way they are na'mean by the S.P albums droppin that should be fire
Like I Said I Guess We Will C Wut Happens I Dont Think Thats Tha Tracklist Eather But Im Just Hopin' its good.
freeway gonna take the crown from jay on nov 20th everybody go cop that free at last album in stores freeway all day fuck that american gangsta blu magic shit!!
fuck freeyway
See I tried to tell yall dummies a long time ago, Wayne was just doin what every rapper should do and that's think you tha best..tha only reason it got any pub was because Wayne said it. You just have to keep it real, Wayne said sorry for all tha heat his comments brought, NOT FOR SAYING HE THA BEST, and especially not sorry for tha fact that haters wanna take his words and flip them to cause controversy...even Kanye will tell you how tha media do this, so why we (tha fans) do it is besides me...
yea an why wouldnt u think your the best? u gotta have that in your mind 2 go anywhere i rap an i think i do what i do the best (even though millions would disagree cus i aint known lol)but u cnt get mad at wayne for thinkin he the best u gotta have that self-condidence
dam i mean self-CONFIDENCE
exactly thats what wayne said..."I'm a competitor, I hope everybody else feels the same way about their craft, y'knah mean? If you do, it makes it better for the people, it makes it better for the listeners dawg, and thats how I feel about mine. So if you are listening and you want to hear somebody who is dedicated to what they do, I am so dedicated that I feel I'm the best, and that's that. " and i think thats real talk...you gotta think you're the shit or you wont be the shit...
and someone said something bout wayne beggin jay to get on the album didn't you read the article it says jay heard it and said “Ask the homie if I can get this.”
From MTV Mixtape Mon news
If Jay-Z gets his wish, Jadakiss will be a part of the Roc very soon. Hov has been in negotiations with Ruff Ryders to get the black Babe Ruth on his label through Def Jam. It's almost a done deal.
"Well, I've been actually trying to get Jadakiss to come to Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders for a minute," he said. "It's not done. It's in the final stages, though. I spoke to [co-CEO] Dee [Dean] and all of them about doing something really special with a Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders collaboration."
Jay drops his American Gangster LP on November 6 and the next video from the album will be "Roc Boys." A movie for his album — not to be confused with the November 2 Denzel Washington movie that inspired the album — is also coming down the line.
"I'mma shoot a video but try to shoot it [so that] I can add scenes from it into the movie," Hov told us a couple of days before "Roc Boys" went into production. "It's gonna take a minute to get this movie together; writing it and getting the right people to do it." ...
